I wonder if others have the same problem.

I used to buy Indie Gala bundles in bulk. Once when a bundle went up and another one or two five-packs during happy hour, when all purchases were quadrupled. This way I ended up with 21 or 41 bundles as giveaway and trading material. I still have many keys left from old IG bundles like Colossus, Flash, Dwarves, Mass Effect and June.

But some time ago, a couple of weeks or maybe months, not sure when it started, unused keys from these bundles began to change. Sometimes into duplicate keys, sometimes into invalid keys (even weird 26-character keys instead of the usual 15 characters for Steam keys). I feel kinda scammed because I paid for them and now they became unusable.

Is this a known issue with Indie Gala, did anyone else experience it or am I just an isolated case?

If I remember correctly, somewhere on the site it says "use the keys asap". Will check.
Edit: Checked and didn't find anything. I might be confusing it with another site. Sorry about it.

Yeah, their emails, etc, do say that, and that support ends in so many days. Still, this seems kinda fucked up for the keys to go to garbage.

"PLEASE ACTIVATE YOUR KEYS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!"
BUT, there's also the reason why we should use they as soon as possible:
"Your keys will never expire, so as your profile, but our support ends 60 days after your purchase."

(You can see that in the emails you receive from them after a purchase/receiving a gift)

I would immediately contact IG support.

You should see this, from any of their receipts sent to your e-mail:

"PLEASE ACTIVATE YOUR KEYS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Your keys will never expire, so as your profile, but our support ends 60 days after your purchase."

That's why I haven't contacted their support yet. I figured they wouldn't replace the affected keys anyway, because... you know... "support ends 60 days after your purchase".
And I'm aware of "PLEASE ACTIVATE YOUR KEYS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!" but also "Your keys will never expire".

Edit: Now that I think of it, the two statements seem somewhat contradictory. :D

Providing "support" is a different prospect to providing the product purchased.

In countries with any form of robust consumer protection legislation, this would get laughed out of court before people had even got comfortably seated.

Even if their support ends after 60 days, they still have legal liabilities for up to two years.

maybe some how some one got a hold of the keys??

i can not say about Gala as i have not had any issue but i have not used then very long and most games i got have either been given away or used

but maybe ill keep this in mind and maybe give them away before the 60 days, but i would still contact them and ask how they can say keys last forever but support is only 60 days and yet you have keys that do not work

kinda shoots the keys last forever thing but i bet they will just give you the run around but if you spent a lot money tell them if this is how they do business you will take it else where

Turns out I'm not the only one who noticed it. Doesn't make it better but it feels somewhat reassuring nonetheless. :D
Over the last couple of weeks some people I traded with or who won my giveaways asked "Is it from Indie Gala? I think they reuse their keys after a while. Happened to me too." or something along those lines when the first couple of keys I gave them were duplicate.
(I still haven't contacted IG support and I don't intend to. From now on I'll just stick to bundlesites that don't fuck over their customers.)

Dont know about IG, but happened to me with HB, i had some unused keys, and when i tried to activate them, voila "duplicate keys". But HB support was nice enought to check this out and revoke those keys, and gave me new ones. Still dont know what the fudge happened.

yeah i got a duplicated rush bros in january bundle. Since it was later given for free on other website, and the bundle was a gift link, i didn't mind contacting support further

let's hope it's isolated because i have many duplicates too.
