I had that happen to me once while in college. was working a job at the time that paid only slightly more then minimum wage, and someone convinced me to go to a meeting (formal clothes and all) for a 'large company'. Didn't take long into their presentation to realize it was a pyramid scheme. What a complete waste of time that was.

Oh god! I was once at one of those introductory sessions before I knew these things exist with a guy giving a "motivational" speech and I had the feeling I was the only one seeing through that crap.
Thought about trying to nail him with some questions during the event, but didn't feel confident enough that day, so I just left before it was over hoping it would maybe have an impact on others.
I really didn't think these criminals would operate so openly. But they probably don't have to fear much from western criminal "justice" systems.
