Lol ah just took old info as gospel without doing extra research, was kinda scratching my head to come up with some random but related questions that couldn't be instagoogled.
Think for my next one or two I will work from a few screenshots for my questions.

You know, none of your answers on the quiz are actually right, only 3 is. Might want to actually research your questions before putting a test out there.

None, then you say 3... also to my research 4 is also correct... it was a bit late and number 1 wasn't correct mainly due to a reallllyyy obscure title but I will make sure to get it right in the future.
As for question 2 can you tell me what the first one was? and being an arena based shooter it has to be solely built around that mechanic and no other. (more interested)
But hey sorry for creating a giveaway... will remember not to in the future :D

Will you chill with the drama? I was going to put my thanks for the giveaway into the comment of the giveaway itself, as I eventually did beat the puzzle. I was just quite frustrated by the fact that your quiz was wrong, as trying a load of answers, which were all more valid than the answers you picked, didn't work, which felt kind if shitty.
As for your answer to 1 - Even if you didn't consider the 1 really obscure title, there was also Descent. Actually, as you didn't define what you thought counted as "3d", I could have answered "Maze War" as it also simulated a 3d environment. You said nothing about "true" 3d, or polygons.
Quake 1 and 2 both had a very active (mod) community and were played religiously by some, even after Q3 came about, in multiplayer matches. Arena shooters.
And this for four.
Seeing the other responses on this thread confirms all I'm saying..

Dude notice the difference between my attitude to you and to the other guy, it is how you responded that annoyed me not the WHAT you responded about. But hey it is the internet and 4chan exists, why have decorum as the guy on the other side of the screen isn't going to hit you if you are an ass.
quake 1-2 weren't arenashooters... and a mod is not a full game. AS I said.. Still not arenashooters, fps with an arenashooting mode but not an arenashooter. You can argue otherwise but this is one I don't agree on... I could have said pure or dedicated but I think
As for four have a look at those dates again, technically it has two answers the one you look at and the one below, same date of release on pc.
With question 1 I was operating on a quick thought to come up with the first 3D fps I could think of, things that qualified it as a fps in my mind were it having first person view and being a human or human like and shooting, HOWEVER I did not do the research and went with a bit of trivia I remembered from magazines which was wrong this was stated the last time. As for descent it is a 6dof shooter not a fps, it is a well established term however I can see once again where I could have elaborated.

I wasn't being an ass, my tone was slightly annoyed. I actually agree on the whole "fuck internet rudeness because it's just a screen" thing, but if you can't even show a slight sense of annoyance at each other, wtf, that's not good for communication. The problem is when you read one comment from someone, and you have an image in your mind of that being their personality, period. Just because someone posts one annoyed comment or so, doesn't mean that through communication, they won't settle down and become more agreeable after some discourse. But, obviously, only if the other person also understands this inherent limitation of our minds. It makes sense this is how we work, as in person, we're used to forming a whole image of someone based on the information available. However, in person, this information is very rich - body language, eye contact, tone of voice, smell, touch, attitude, energy, as well as that when speaking, usually people are more verbose with spoken word, which carries its' own nuances of vocabulary used and context. Our brains are wired to work this way, as a long-evolved process has created it as a social survival tool, as we're social animals - make an image or "feeling" of the person to help make quick decisions. When all you have is words on a screen though, since it's all the information you have on someone, the image is inherently incomplete, and filled with lots of the same, recursively, to fill in the gaps your mind has about the other person. So, an annoyed person is mister super annoyed, that's just who he is. Right? ;)
I always try to type as I'd say something out loud, with the same choice of words, and I think more people ought to do that, too. So as to at least help the other party see things from your side as well as possible < quite literally.
Anyway, the funny thing is, that you're subconsciously doing something we all tend to do, something very human, but which lies at the very base of the kind of internet douchebaggery you're against (but that's that subconscious filling in an image of someone plus a healthy dose of actually being a dick and not caring about others - which you lack :) ). What I'm trying to say is - picture me saying all I said above with a calm tone of voice, in person, simply trying to express something, to give feedback, and see what you say about it. Have some understanding for my annoyance and let me be a bit annoyed, it doesn't mean I'm an unflinching, stubborn asshole who will now and forever always hate you and your offspring :P, or won't listen to a reasonable response. You messed up, and responded with a reasonable response, so that definitely took away the annoyance, as you show you give a damn about what I said and put some effort and thought into typing up a response. So, thanks for that.
In short - we good? :)

Have you tried separating them into two words with a space in-between and capitalisation ?

learned something new about games through all the research XD

it is the same with three main changes "dedicated arena" rather than just"arena", "first game along side roboblitz released" rather than "first game released" and removal of "first 3D fps" which I had listed as quake, I removed that one because "first 3D first person shooter that you play as a human running around" was a bit naff.

Because it wasn't an arena fps... an arena fps is a game which revolves around battling in arenas... Quake 1-2 were games that had a small (until custom levels were released) set of arenas in a secondary multiplayer mode to the much much larger traditional single player mode

Well I made some changes and uploaded a new one, they should all be correct and some slight semantics changed to make it more clear.
---Old post---
Okeydoke folks, the giveaway will start in 23hours and then finish on the 25th.
This is my first giveaway and it is an extra amazon key as I already picked up the bundle on steam earlier and then got it again so as to give my friend a copy of saints row the third.
The questions are all related and pretty easy but I figured I would rather do my giveaways here.
