Due to me messing up and not posting this thread earlier when I meant to, this is a lot easier than it should be.

Anywho, here's my first attempt at a puzzle giveaway, good luck.

Solve me!

Your clues!

  • One might hear this shouted a lot if you take a wander around St. Andrews.
  • Half the amount of letters in the word ostrich.
  • It's almost the longest river in the UK.
  • Furthermore.
  • A prequel to the first.

HINT - The five clues should give five answers, which should lead you to the solution.
HINT THE SECOND - Numbers.

SOLUTION

The answers to the clues are

  • 4 ("Fore!" is shouted by golfers, St. Andrews is a famous golf course).
  • 8 (This was the clue I messed up, as I stupidly did 7 twice - Anyway, half the amount of letters in "the word ostrich", which is seven. I left out the quotation marks to leave the clue ambiguous).
  • 7 (The longest river in the UK is the River Severn, which is almost Seven).
  • 2 (Too).
  • 0 (The number preceding the first number).

48720 is the Steam app id for Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword, which is the solution, and the game I'm giving away.

Okay nobody hate me. I messed up. I'll post the solution still, but I made a huge mistake and feel like a right plonker. As an apology hopefully everyone who spent time on this quiz will get this link - http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/s0VKo/

Apologies once again.

No worries, mistakes happen. It was fun and it's a clever puzzle.

Well, at least I've learnt to thoroughly check my puzzles before posting!

I had 4, 3.5, 7, 2, 0 and was trying addition, multiplication, looking to see if the numbers were a sequence, tried the answers as words rather than numbers and when all those didn't work, I started to take the combined number (43.5720) and thought it was half of a longitude/latitude place.

As I mentioned in an earlier comment, I doubt I would have linked the number (which I got wrong anyway) to a Steam AppID :)

Don't worry about the small blunder, the puzzle itself was clever and fun.
