Had a Giveaway, gave the key too late(?)

bare with me, I realize i'm an idiot but i kinda need help.

So I had a giveaway last week and I put the key in the giveaway section and wrote everything else as needed. What I thought would happen is that when someone wins the giveaway, they would just automatically win it and the key would be given. I was away from the computer at the time the selection was to happen and gave the key a few hours later. They haven't responded and i'm not sure if the key is valid or not (the giveaway was last week), and I can't seem to PM them or anything (or don't know how). what to do?

TLDR: screwed up giveaway, not sure if key is valid

If the request is approved, a new winner will be generated by the site.

doesnt sound like you screwed up? you have up to a week to send it, although its polite to send it as soon as you can. but sending it a few hours after your giveaway sounds perfectly ok.
make sure to check his account to see if he redeemed the game before asking for the reroll or filing the support ticket :)

Contact them on steam.
Or post a reply on a comment of the winner somewhere (so they get a SG notify)

  1. You have one week to give the key to them.
  2. If the winner is nice, they can still mark the game received even if you gave it to them a year too late.

and may I ask how to do that if I can't talk to them without being friends with on steam, (and they won't respond to the friend request)? legit question, not trying to be sarcastic. can't seem to talk directly to people on this site unless it was here.

add on steam. write on their profile. write on one of their older giveaways. write on one of their trade threads. stalk them on forums and write under their post. add their friends on steam. if you can't do any of those, hack them and send the message "follow the rabbit". manipulate them with a rabbit tattooed girl to add you on steam.
