I was trading today on tf2 Outpost(rarely use it but i had to, since i need like 1 euro to buy God Mode)

I got this message saying "I can make you a good offer. Add me on my main ()" And there was this link in the ()
Look at it. (I'm not going to fully show it, just to make you guys sure on what to watch for) steamconrmunity
Saw the error? Go back again and see the NR instead of M.
Do not go in there guys, it instantly hacked my account. For 1 min max.
I got steamsupport all updated wiht pics and stuff so i guess i should be fine in 10 hours or so.
Friends tell me that i have a lot of hate on my profile for "scamming".
And incase you are wondering, he changed my password and i cant login into steam's site or the program itself
But i have my steam login saved in sites as Outpost, Steamgifts and etc.

Take care now lads. Wish you a good Sunday. Not like mine ;D

You clicked a link and it instantly hacked your account? Seems unlikely. I presume you entered your username and password, right?

yeah, did that. And i got a message to activate my acc using this special key. You know that from the e-mail that steam has sent you. I had like 3 emails all of the same keys. Keep on for a lookout guys.

It's on as usual. But i just figured out how this works.
A site that imitates Steam. You have to login like Steam. You have to confirm the Code like Steam but problem is. It is not Steam. It's just a devil hiding in a puppy suit. Goddamn it. And how much does it take for Steam Support to reply? I gave them a bunch of photoes of the hackers, the unknown friends that i have right now, my backpack. Everything. I hope my ticket doesnt get postponed...

You will get it back with everything in your inventory (they reset all trade for one time as "courtesy") but you have to wait a bit.

That blob of text barely makes any sense... Are you saying that you went to a link, and it was a modified mirror of steam, and you signed into it? Who does it? If you go to any site from a link, you should always manually go to the home page of the site to login. Keeping active logins also helps, cutting the times you need to login at all by at least 95%, if your PC is exclusively yours...

I had a problem wiht Google chrome not accepting my steam acc to be permanently signed it and whenever i tried to go to steampowered, it requiered a login.
So this time, i was using Chrome again and didn't pay ANY attention to the site and all. Was just mad at it "Jesus, remember my steam reg already, im getting sick of this" and it sent me the steam guard thing and i was like "It's probably going to ask me for a login for the last time so let's do this" and bam! Account hacked. Oh well. Still no reply to my ticket from Steam... Oh well.

Well, if what you say is truth, I hope you'll be more careful next time. A little advice. If Chrome doesn't remember your login, refresh the page or click back and forward and you should be logged in. Usually works for me.

For future reference, you can use a dummy group chat to post the link to someone's profile in through the steam client and then click on it. Since you're already logged into steam, it'll send you to their profile to add them. If you post it in the steam chat and it opens up in a browser, it is not an official steam link.

Real/Valid id links do not have typos, and if that's not enough remember that you're never required to sign in to view someone's profile. I recommend always adding people through the steam client and not to use the browser for steam related things. The client has crappy limitations that make it foolproof to these kinds of scams.

You can set your profile to private or 'logged in users' only, though.

In which case no one can view the profile no matter what and you walk away. Simply avoid trades with such people.

You entered your personal information to a site that just looks like like Steam, but is not Steam, always check before doing something like that...I know that link, I saw it before, I'm surprised why Valve didn't shutdown this website yet or maybe they did another, and if you look at it, it's obviously not a Steam page.
