Just some tall bushes and a little bit of my neighbor's backyard.

My garden, and a bunch of trees past my garden. That's it.
If I look slightly right, I can see the worlds most annoying neighbor in the world, though.

Yep. I'm in England. My neighbor are a cop and ex-cop couple.
You'd never even imagine how often they themselves break the law.

My room is in the attic, so my window is not really entertaining (it's an attic window, of course).
Half of the year I need a curtain to block the super greenhouse effect it makes.
On autumn and winter, well, all I can see is black clouds.
Rarely I can see the moon at night, shining on my face while I try to sleep.
Oh, and forget to open it! On Autumn and Winter it will cause a shower of bedbugs, On Spring and Summer, flocks of mosquitoes will get in.
That's the worst window to have in this part of Italy.
Stupid first world problems of mine

Yep! I love forests, but this looks hot, just like here, and I hate that xD

Love this idea. I'll have to post a picture tomorrow. I live in a generic urban American city, surrounded by concrete. Across from my window is a hotel, a gas station and two freeway connections. It takes fifteen minutes to drive a mile and a half most of the time.
I'm incredibly jealous of people with scenic, beautiful views. Appreciate them, folks!
Comment has been collapsed.
I can agree on this beautiful views but don't you have that feeling that you might not like other areas? I mean, I live in big city, you know you probably saw my photo. I like some of views posted here, but I don't know, for example, If I would be able to live city to live in some quiet area. I mean, I love nature, I would love to see forrest and mountains but on the other hand... What would I do there all year :P
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, internet is important when you have your games in some magic digital cloud Ok, I know they are on some servers but you know what I mean :P waiting to be downloaded.
And for what you said - there isn't much to add to that. Every place have it's ups and downs. Yet one things makes me wonder - why things are more expensive? I always tought that in places like that things should be cheaper. You know, don't get me wrong but for example when I was visiting my familly that lives in similiar area most of the things was cheaper that in my city. Of course I know there are many circumstances... Not to mention the little fact that we live on different continents :P
Maybe it's because I live in captial city and everything is expensive here because, you know, it's so prestigious to have shops/bars/clubs in some parts of city that it autmaticlly makes everything more expensive to let owners pay for rent and stuff like that.

The hospital aspect would bother me the most. I spent a week this summer at my husband's family's vacation place and it made me very nervous to think we were doing semi-athletic activities so far away from medical care. As is, I have two top notch hospitals within 4 miles of me (one east, one west). I've had to call 911 before and they were at my front door within 4 minutes and I was at the hospital in 15.

Your view is a whole lot more scenic than mine. ;) To me, it looks like there is a forest between you and the buildings! I think my biggest issue would be boredom; I have a 30 screen theater cinema in walking distance from my front door, as well as a giant arcade (Dave & Busters) and two malls within four miles. It would be hard to give that up but I'm getting to an age now where quietness and solitude honestly doesn't seem so bad. I mention in a comment below that I spent a week in the semi-wilderness this summer (not entirely, my in-laws own a place in a private resort) and it was amazing to see horses and cows, hahah. Made me yearn a bit for more grass, less concrete - but I suppose that's why people have vacation homes!
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh well, I guess I just took a good photo ;) If I would somehow manage to include ground level on my photo you will see a serpent road that ges between buildings and playgrounds and many, many cars. Still, I can't say I'm complaining because I have a lot of green arounf, especially if I would compare it to other districts. Not to mention an actuall forest not very far away and few nice green places.
And about semi-wildeness, quieness and solitude - there are parts of city (and around it) where you can find big, expensive houses in the middle of 'nothing' (nothing means fields, sometimes smaller or bigger, depends of place :P forrests but totally lack of shops or things like that; not even bus stops). Sure, when you have money to buy home like that you have money to ride everywhere with car but sometimes I think I would be able to stand even something like that. I mean, it's like living in fortress. It might sound funny but sometimes I imagine kids of this people. When I was younger I could just go in front oof my block and I had my friends in few minutes walk distance. And there? They can't do that, they can't just stay after school on playground becasue parents are going home from work and they probablly won't wait few hours in the car, nor they will leave kid alone, far away from home.
What I'm trying to say - city for life! Or some town in mountains, that would be cool :P

Well, I don't have my camera phone with me, so description I guess.
City of Jakarta, Indonesia. Capital city of Indonesia, the 4th most populous country in the world, the city with worst traffic jam in the world, the city with most active Twitter activities, 17th most populous city in the world, and 5th most dense city in the world.
I live in the apartment, around 30+ floor, so it is clear view to the city. There are some tall buildings, lucky for me they are not obscuring the view. If I look down it will be houses upon houses upon houses. Jakarta has tons of shopping centers, but as Jakarta is a big city, and a city with bad traffic jam and bad public transport, it could take 1-2 hours when going somewhere in the city proper. If you want to visit the suburbs it could take 2-3 hours.
Unlike Western cities, and like other third-world countries, most houses in Jakarta are not big, and not very good. Most of the houses are semi-permanent, with similar roof tiling colors. The city planning is bad, thus we see roads criss-crossing left and right without thinking. From my point of view, we could see houses upon houses, pocked with schools and mosques at some places. We have lots of mosques, after all, Indonesia is a Muslim country. We also got schools, really stand out because all of our schools have similar design : three-floor building with an open space for the students for flag ceremony every Monday.
The air is not clean, as expected from a big and polluted city. On some clear days, such as Saturdays and Sundays, or during public holiday, I could spot mountains on the far side of the city. That's one of the plus of the city, it only took you a trip of 1-3 hours under good speed and good timing for a trip to mountain retreat or something, we call them Puncak.
The city is well-lit in the night. Despite most of the houses are not very good, the streets are well-lit, the buildings are well-lit, and electricity grid coverage is good. From my apartment I could see major highways in Jakarta : one connecting the international seaports of Jakarta to the inner cities of Java Island, one connecting the international seaports to domestic seaports that will bring the goods to other islands of Indonesia, and one connecting the residential districts to the commercial districts. I don't live near any industrial districts, but those are located near the seaports.
In my area, the traffic is heavy, luckily my office is located just 2 blocks away so I could just walk. Or use a bicycle. The highways are clogged with private cars during the day, and trucks during the night (the city forbids trucks from entering the city at day).

Wow, that's very nice and detailed description. My sister was once on a trip to Indonesia (but if I remember correctly she wasnt in Jakarta) and she said that your country is really beautiful and most of people she met was very nice :)
But let me ask about one thing - what about parks? Do you have some places that you can go, sit on bench under a tree and chill? Big cities, especially with big density, should have some green places to let people chill. Well, at least in my opinion. Sure, as you said, tou can take a trip, but what if you don't have time to do that?
Also: I live in the apartment, around 30+ floor, so it is clear view to the city. Is there a slight chance that you will be able to make a photo? :)

I will take a photo in the morning <3 at night my cellphone camera would make it look shity

I took a picture for this yesterday, then forgot to come back and post it. The panorama came out a bit choppy, and it makes my deck look L-shaped...it's just a straight deck. We just moved in a couple weeks ago. When we get the poison ivy cleared out of the backyard, we're going to try to plant a winter garden. We have another balcony in the front, too, I might take a picture from there later. My dog loves to lay in the sun and watch kids come home from school.
As with OP's picture, click for full size!
Edit: Added front balcony and Stella, the American Pit Bull Terrier.

Damn! Is your area haunted? I see a partialy visible car on the first photo!
But seriously, it looks like nice, calm area. Is it well located? If you want to go to some shop or cinema you can walk or have to take a car? Oh, and as you just moved there recently - I hope you will like it there :)
Is your dog also ghost? It looks silver. Normal dogs aren't made from silver. They are made from fur a dog parts
Forgive me, I'm just really tired today and tought it would be funny :P

I will dig in that thread.
But before I do that I have to ask about something. As always I skipped to photos and at first I saw you, then I saw your avatar... Is that you? Are you doing cosplay stuff and... eee... stuff? I don't actually know what cosplayers do besides of, you know, cosplaying. If yes, do you have some site or gallery? I love to see well done horror cosplays.
I hope it doesn't soundy creepy or something like that. If, somehow, it actually sounded creepy, I'm sorry I have asked, please don't hate me.

It was actually my Halloween costume a few years ago, I want to say....2012? Elizabeth Shaw from Prometheus. I used to make costumes a lot, but I haven't in recent years. I once made a dress out of a pillowcase and a suit out of trash bags for an "anything but clothes" party, I was super proud of those. I'm thinking of trying to make money out of it, since I actually have space in our new house to have a sewing room. Making costume pieces, outfits, even doll clothes and selling it online.

Here they are, the hyped photos <3 first one i took at sun rise, sadly my camera is crap and the my window points to the east, the others i took half an hour ago at 4:30 pm
I live in Cordoba, Argentina, the second biggest city in the country <3 my neigberhood is okay, its at the limit beetween a safe one and a full of criminals one but i am kind of tall so i scare them anyway <3 (the first week that i got here about 2 years ago two man tryied to rob me </3 ) i live right in front of the "cañada" a kind of drain so the city doesnt flood when it rains, it is pretty cool, i have about everything near my apartment except college ;_;
i live 50 mts away from the "flea fair" or flea market i guess... it is that and though it isnt it is more thant that is a place where every weekend a lot of craftsmans from the city make tents and sell their stuff all hand made, i have a cousin that used to sell stuff there (see picture number 4 for reference, if i remember to search it)... mmm what else... i live on a 11th floor :D
YEAH THEY ARE DARTH VADER AND YODA ORIGAME OKAY, though he now makes much more cooler stuff, i will spam his facebook page on the first comment <3
p.s also tomorrow i am traveling to the town where i grew up, to my parents house, i would take a picture from my window there <3

Wait, just wait. Is there some kind of rusty bridge between this two tall buildings? Please, tell me that people actually don't use it...
And your neigberhood sounds nice (except that robbing thing; I guess that's because you was 'new' usually people like that don't mug people from their own area). We also have something like flea market (or had, there was some problems recently with that).
Cool thing about "cañada". It reminds me this scene from Terminator 2 or Drive where main characters was driving by canal like that. I don't think we have something like that in Poland (not that we need to I think). Actually, when Wisla (main river of Poland) raise, there is nothing much to do with that, and forces like soldiers or fire fighters go out too build a temporary blockades from bags of sands. Genereally floods are interesting topic in my country because it happens periodically (like once in 3 or 4 years), government is all like 'we will help, we will build infrastructure to prevent this' people with destroyed houses are like 'how could I know to buy insuarance, last flood was so long ago' (when it actually was 2 years earlier with same results) and after month or so everyone forget about it until next flood happens -.-

i havent seeney people actually using it and to be honest i dont know why would someone need it :P and yeah i think it was because i was new, i was walking with the cellphone on my hand, now nobody tries to robb me, and if they try i will ROB THEIR LIFE !!
now i am on my parents house, tomorrow i will take a photo from my window <3

Hello, fellow users!
I was just looking behind my window and thinking about things (lol so funny, so deep; I actually thought about stuff, you know?) and some idea came to mind - we all live in different countries, continents, etc. We have our rooms (shared or not) and I can bet that most of them have windows (no rudness intendet, I know how weird can architecture be) and I wondered - what it first thing you see in the morning, where do you look when you want to rest your eyes from PC screen or when you want to check the weather?
I would love to see that. I would love to see how different (or not) are cities are, where do you live. I would love to see how your homelands look for real, not how they are presented on ads for tourists.
But keep in mind that there is one rule - it have to be view from you room/bedroom/eventually room where you spend a lot of time. You have a great ocean view from your patio, but from you room you can only see other houses? Don't worry about that! Show what you see behind your window!
So I will go first. I live in Warsaw, capital city of Poland. My neighborhood, Ursynów, is on the south of city. It's mostly residential blocks but we have some nice things like parks (there is a lot of green here), sport infrastructure, shops, shoping centers, cinema - you name it. The district is prosepring and people no longer can say it is 'bedroom of Warsaw'. It's not far away from the city centre and it's greatly communicated with the rest of the Warsaw.
It's also kinda young. When Warsaw was destroyed by Germans during WW2, Ursynów didn't existed yet. First groups of residantal blocks was built here around the end of 70s, so over 30 years after the end of war.
I hope this little description was interesting for you :) I would love to hear similiar stories but single photos will also be cool. I might not answer to all comments, but keep in mind that I will check all of them :)
Oh, I almost forgot, this is the link to plenty of GAs: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Plenty of GAs
Let me answer befor you ask - no there isn't any mistake in the link
It's a panorama photo, but I think it look fine. open it in new tab, it's not as small at it appears on SG site
