I finally got one a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, my collection of games for it is rather sad, since I just went through the tat at a local second hand store.

I'll go take a photo then upload so people can laugh.

Edit - One slightly blurry image of my N64 game collection.

Well, at least you have games you might play. Mine would be decent with friends, if I had any willing to play.

  • Never seen a copy locally
  • Massively overpriced online
  • Never been a fan of the Mario games anyway

I would If I had any decent games, and since people sell them more than current gen games, I don't see myself playing any time soon.

Today i'd get a N64 USB Controller and play on emulators, to be honest.

But i can understand that you want to collect and keep the games and consoles you had in your childhood.

:-)

I've never been a fan of emulation myself. Mostly because it tends to lead to piracy and huge backlogs that won't get played.

And I already have the second problem through legal methods.

Unfortunately mine doesn't seem to work that well anymore. I was so crazy about Lylat Wars / Star Fox 64 and was constantly trying to beat the world-wide records. It was so much fun. The ISS games were fun too...Blast Corps...F-Zero X...good times.

I'd add WinBack to that list too. I probably played Perfect Dark the most though.

I still play some of the N64 games on my Wii, currently playing Ocarina of Time :)

That reminds me that my Wii has 2 N64 games from the Virtual Console, Ocarina of Time (not a fan) and Pokemon Snap.

Yes. I loved the GBC LoZ games for example, and since a friend is sending me Oracle of Time today (though I will be waiting a fair while for it to arrive), I'm crazy happy about that.

Got Ocarina of Time on 3DS. It's pretty awesome.

Anyway, probably gonna set my old Wii up for homebrew soon. It's the original model, so I could even slap some GameCube controllers in it without a fuss. Once that sucker's ready to go, I'll be emulating my old N64 games on there: Mario 64, DK64, Pilotwings, and (the best one) the original Super Smash Bros.

Plus, the older models can be hacked to play DVDs, a functionality that was fully removed (rather than just blocked) in later releases of the Wii.

OOT huh? i should play that again just for the master quest >_> (have the gamecube special disc thingy, though the N64 controller was better for it )

I got a N64 with Mario Kart 64, but I also have the first Paper Mario on my Wii. I have already homebrewed my Wii as well, but I just don't like emulating stuff unoffically.

I'm always shocked to see how expensive those games (still) are. Especially Mario Party. Sometimes they are even more expensive than when they came out.

Indeed. There is one more game I can find here, Donkey Kong 64, and the store wants NZ$90 for it. Some series, mostly first party, but some others, just have people wanting stupid prices because they are popular series.

I still have my plugged into my tube t.v. downstairs. It's great for the occasional four player Super Smash Bros. still. Also, Paper Mario, the original!

Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask playthroughs every year or so. I'm in the middle of an all-mask run again for MM, whenever I don't feel like using PC.

Last time I played N64 was 4 years ago, althugh if you're counting emulator, that reduces the time to 2 years.

Currently I'm experimenting on how to connect Wii to PC Emulator for super smash brawl
