Literally every year there's someone coming in the thread (it's like masochism really) to say the same thing and literally every year, there's a bunch of people saying the same thing. It's Pride because there's still shame, there's still shaming, there's still harassment and violence associated with queerness and no it's not pride as in "hey look what I did, I'm so proud", it's Pride as in "you won't make me feel ashamed of who I am and who I love".
Yeah I know, it's the 21st century and you'd think we'd be past that but there are literally in the world many countries where it's still a crime to be queer, there are literally politicians still trying to erase queer people so yeah it's Pride Month, get used to it.

Looks like right now celebrating Pride Month is especially important. Scary stuff is going on โ I'm talking about that horrifying law from Uganda and also about my country, Russia, where a law forbidding gender transition (both legal and surgical) is apparently about to be passed. I just hope that this madness will stop one day and hatred won't win in the end, but, frankly, I'm not really sure that's what would happen.

All those laws mean that things are changing. They know it and it scares them so they are trying to go back in time but it's impossible. Time marches on and things change.
