I found SteamGifts via...
Don't remember how I found it, but poked around for a while and actually won a game. The GA creator e-mailed me offering different games saying they didn't actually have the one they made the GA for. I made a forum topic to ask for advice and received several friendly responses. Short version is that GA creator is no longer on SteamGifts.
So after that disappointment, I created some giveaways with a few bundle games to see how the site worked. After making a few more, and then making a fun giveaway train, I got hooked. Great community, fun forums, and there are so many fun ways to create giveaways and events. My favorite event I planned out so far was my Choose-your-own-adventure Labyrinth, and I'll be putting together something even larger and more fun (for me at least) in the next few months.

I think I saw a link on some steam forum (damn, it was almost 2 years ago). Read the ToS and rules (yes I'm strange :)), found nothing fishy and registered. Scouting forum noticed that community is pretty nice here so I decided to make testrun with bundle leftower. Got bunch of thanks and got hooked D

A Steam friend 2 years ago. But I couldn't join because of the insufficient value of my account.
Several other friends, steam groups, similar sites, google search and Twitch channels later, I finally joined 7 months ago, but the registration date on my profile remains the first time I tried to sign in 2 years ago. x)

I had a dream one night, in which games hopped out of the internet and into my Steam account. When I woke up in the morning, my browser was pointed at Steam Gifts.
Anyway, I don't really remember. What I remember was that at the end of 2011 I was trying to give games in various places (web forums, my Facebook page) and there were few takers. Then I found out about SG somewhere, I think it had left beta shortly before that, which is why I read about it. I was pretty excited to find a place where lots of people would enter my giveaways.

Was seeing links to this site over and over on Steam Forums various giveaway topics, at first I thought it must be some scam, but then I've seen mods deleting quite a few actual scamming phishing links and leaving SG links alone, so I thought "hey, if those links got removed and SG are not at the same time, it may be legit". I got into, quite fast got into forums, loved puzzles idea, and as I was having a lot of free time myself back then dedicated a lot of it to solving puzzles, making my own, quite fast got invited to few awesome groups and so it began ;)

It was during one of my times wandering 'round the 'net. I saw a link to it, came here and looked around a little, read the TOS and FAQ, then decided that it was worthwhile to check out. Then I started lurking around the forums. Like a socially inept ninja.
And after seeing how many awesome people're here, I decided to give away a game. Just so happens that Tubberware's [now defunct ;c] Cherry Poppers group was the first thing that I wanted to gift my games in. Thought it'd be nice to give someone else a first win. Make them as happy as I was when I first won Terraria.
Just a lil tidbit of info that I was thinking about while writing out the above answer. Cheers! ^_^

Some friends told me about Humble bundle, then i googled to find more bundle pages, started to buy and eventually i got repeated keys. At first i was giving the extra ones to friends, but since i did not see them playing, i decided to trade. Then i found the steam trades group first. Traded a few, got scammed as well. Then one of the traders told me about this group. didnt believed him. Entered a lot of giveaways until i won and received the key. Since it was legit so, here am i.

A month ago, someone I follow on Tumblr was giving away a copy of a game I really wanted. So I checked out the link, signed up...and found out I had to be level 1 to be a part of it. ;w; But since then I've just been here, posting every so often, entering giveaways, and waiting until I have enough money to give games back to you guys.

But yeah, moving onto me, it hasn't been that long since I've signed-up here, but my found wasn't exactly new. I saw the SG links quite somewhere on forums and sometimes when searching for specific games in Google. Well, I always avoided because it didn't make much sense for me at the first thought. I thought of being possibly scammed so I stayed away, seen it "Definitely can't be legit." at the time. And plus I'd usually giveaway my games to my friends since I didn't have any community.
But then, some lot's of stuff happened, I lost three of my best friends, and now the last one is in army for another year, so I'm alone, also left alone with my extra keys. :P Well, I went and tried for G2A, for a while, and it actually worked up for some. I have Final Fantasy XIV and soon Heavensward too thanks to it. But after I got what I needed I got bored again, and selling and waiting was too boring.
So I went and typed in Google: "Steam Giveaways". So I checked through the first page and signed up on four of them (One being SG). SG mainly got me for the design, to be honest. So yeah, my first giveaway happened with a DLC. I didn't decide to stay on to be honest, but there were like some games on my wishlist I saw being given away, so I was like why not. But then I've learnt about CV system and more levels => more giveaways. So I used my last pennies on G2A to get a game, gave away.
But yeah, right now I guess I'm pretty much... At least hourly checking the site. Started up GD too, meanwhile I wait stacking for more points. So yeah, that is my story. What's yours? :P
