I would advise you to not create any Control giveaways listed as Control Ultimate Edition until we sort this out internally.

I know how it works, that's why I asked this out rather than creating a GA right away. But there might be some people who does not care and it might end up badly heh. That's why I asked like this, if it is going to be sorted out somehow and I thank you very much, as you are a member of the team, your answer helps me a lot!

NOTE: When redeeming Control via Steam key, users may see Control Ultimate Edition in their Steam library and during installation. Please disregard the Ultimate Edition title as the Steam key will only grant Control Standard Edition. For more information, please visit: https://support.505games.com/hc/en-us/sections/360005474899

Hm, had a look at it & to me it seems that STEAM has messed this up quite a bit.
The purchase option on top clearly is for CONTROL, let´s call it Standard Edition - € 29,99
only the next option gives you CONTROL Ultimate Edition - € 39,99
Why on earth STEAM titles the whole page Ultimate Edition and puts it in the URL aswell maybe even Gabe doesn´t know ..
Now as long as SG draws that data directly from STEAM here´s wherer the fun starts 🤦♂️

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I honestly don't remember seeing just Control before this monthly. I remember seeing only Control Ultimate Edition once it appeared on Steam. Seems like the "standard" option for purchase was added recently.

I couldn´t say but that sounds very plausible - I might have had a look at it a couple weeks ago but I really don´t remember what it looked like then. Maybe HB blindsided STEAM & they´re troubleshooting themselves .. I honestly don´t envy you guys for having to deal with this crap !

According to SteamDB the standard edition, season pass and both dlcs were just made available as separate purchases March 1st 2021
I guess the publisher after the 1 year epic exclusive wanted to maximize profit by only offering the Ultimate edition on Steam, and when they decided to add the game to HB they decided to make it standard so they can make more money from selling the season pass
Steam can fix this easy by renaming the store page to just Control

Just use the appid for standard edition. Im sure the sub for ultimate wasnt there yesterday. But its there now
Some people are going to cry that its wrong because the steam store page has it in its name. But technically its not wrong because you are giving away the app. And the real ultimate edition is under a diffrent sub.

I can't seem to find the sub game now, the one without picture.

Has there been any resolution to this yet? I am still not able to find a vanilla Control option for giveaway

So with these Control giveaways. Does this mean we can make a giveaway for something else, but add what it really is in the Description and it is o.k.? I've seen two like that and they're still up.

What do you mean? Are you talking about control standard edition that is written as ultimate edition on the giveaway, or another game? If you are talking about the first one, you can create the giveaway - the actual ultimate edition is temporarily disabled as what other people linked above your post. If you are talking about the latter one, it shouldn't be okay, but you might want to tell which game it is first.

i can't open the second link, but the first link has the correct game. humble choice's control is the standard edition, and since the steam store actually list it as "Control Ultimate Edition" (that's also the text that you'll get if you activate the key btw, despite not having the dlc), the title is correct. it's not wrong on the sg side, but rather on steam or developer's for listing it as such.
fyi, the giveaway for the actual ultimate edition (the real Control Ultimate Edition with dlcs) has been temporarily disabled because of this, so it's safe to assume that all control giveaways that is happening now is the standard edition without dlc.
if you are asking whether it's safe to create a giveaway for the hb version of control now, then the answer is yes.

If, when you hover over the picture on the giveaway (#1 in the pic), the popup url bar (#2 in the pic) shows appid 780780
, it is fine to enter. If you a giving a copy from March monthly, make sure it is appid 780780.
For example, on both of those giveaways, Firefox shows https://store.steampowered.com/app/870780/

So, with the new HB Monthly and Control being in it, I want to make a giveaway for it. But there is only the Ultimate Editon option, but HB gives only the standart edition. But steam page looks like this and even tho it's called Control Ultimate Edition, you can buy standart, non Ultimate Edition game on that page only. How does SG solve this? because standart edition does not have it's own page, you can find only Ultimate Edition here. Will SG create some way to make the standart edition giveaways? Because this migh end up being a problem with giving away something, we don' have and so on, you know the deal.
