Red and Blue ~ Cycles of Existence and Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare were removed from one of my account. I used asf to add them again and they got removed from both of my accounts. LOL.

I think they are still there....well, some of them at least.
What happened was that several of them had the package name changed on your license (several are variants that say "empty", and several which share the same spelling for S2Engine evidently treating it as the same game). But if you go to the store page, it should say you still have the game.
Someone mentioned that they may also be missing executables. I think this name change may have affected it. IIRC, there should still be ways around that if that happens.

Yup. He did something funny though. While Red and Blue & Hack the Core simply disappeared from my library, Freeman is still there, but with the option to Purchase, instead of Play or Install. I must admit, that the guy has some original ideas; first he blocked us from downloading the executables, now this.

Oh, thanks, I didn't know that. Technically, I has been marked as installed (highlighted), indeed, after I tried to install it, when the install files have already been removed from Steam.

The Dev removed the access to the game through the free package. The same thing happened with Hack the Core and Red and Blue ~ Cycles of Existence. Looks like the Devs can invalidate licenses that were tagged as Free on Demand.

They removed the package from the subid. Thats why it says Empty on the license page.
But Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare didnt really matter from the beginning beause it didnt even include the game in the license. It activated as "A game of games demo" and didnt install the game.

Steam store says I own Hack the Core base game as shown in this screenshot http://prntscr.com/nnn8sm yet when I go to the store page it shows as in this screenshot http://prntscr.com/nnn98v and I can't find it in my Library, whether standard uninstalled or Hidden category, and going to the SeamDB page and clicking install, it's just an endless loading circle on Steam and won't install. Anyone know about this/have this issue?

You are using methods to redeem provided by Steam so they cant blame you. The worst what can happen is that they delete the game from your library. But that never happend yet

so in other words, its allowed to get free games from steamdb. and its not in your responsibility if the game was accidently set "free" on steamdb or not? and if it actually was set "free" accidently, then the devs can make steam remove it from the accounts if they want to, without the user getting any penalty because he/she got the game?

You are not getting games from steamdb. Steamdb is not the one who set the games as free. They are just updating their site with changes to apps through steam's publicly available API. Even you can get the information listed on steamdb by a simple command like app_info_print [AppID] on steam console.

Valve appears to be (slowly) going through and fixing these. The following have been marked as Unavailable, so they are no longer addable to accounts, but have not been turned into normal packages so will not +1 or drop cards:
- Empty (used to be: S2Engine HD)
- BlackFaithSV✝
- Cat Burglar: A Tail of Purrsuit
- Disco Destruction
- Discord Bot - Controls
As of right now, no content from the above have been removed from the above (except for Empty), so you'll still be able to play them.
✝ The app itself has been removed from the package. The depot, however, is still a part of the package and the game's content can still theoretically be downloaded using download_depot and played (I haven't tested this).

uhm.. about Cat Burglar it's still on my account and steamdb signs the game as owned (there's the Owned button instead of the Free one); also MetaMorph seems to have been updated (and this is Owned for me, too)

If you already own the game, it won't be removed simply because the package is marked as Unavailable. Unavailable just means that it can't be added to accounts anymore.

This entirely. This is entirely on the devs for (incorrectly) setting up free packages. I actually had some of these games months before this thread as I regularly run SteamDB's script for adding free items to my account. I didn't even realise there was anything odd going on till devs started "fixing" things and games started showing up in my library.

Infact most of these would profit from major markettransactions.
The price plummeted, sure... but who cares? If it was 20 cents they would get, what, 3 cents? Per transaction. Of literally NONE.
Now they get at 0.03 1 cent per transaction of tons, from people who would never buy them.
That was the ENTIRE PREMISE behind Steam trading card games that sell for pennies (and Steam added the 0.39 iirc limit to counter, just to have russian cent stores take over).
A high trading card price doesn't really help devs, transactions do. Of course selling their game would too, but most of these all of us would never buy. Or did you go through that list and saw many wishlist titles?

To be fair, only a few titles of the bunch ever got "fixed" in a way that made them drop cards. Every other dev saw tens of thousands of copies of their titles gone for free with no benefits whatsoever.
Though this incident did make me aware of a couple games I never heard of before, I'm keeping an eye on them and might acquire them legitimately on a future sale or if they show up in a bundle.

Buying a 7 buck game for 16 cent games is stretching it a bit for me. They'd have to be very cheap keys in the first place...

Stretching it far enough for there theoretically being couple people? If we assume all cards costing 16c on market and sack of gems costing 18c like it does now, it would require crafting 25 boosters to get the price of the game back. So in less than a month it would have paid for itself in these ideal conditions of there being enough people even buying the cards for those prices.

If you feel bad there's an easy sollution: Buy their games. Buy their trading cards (1 cent per transaction for them too, don't act like massive market transactions only benefit botfarms).
Also mind if you would have bought any of these in the first place. I doubt it. I definitely wouldn't. And ones I would buy (Age of Wonders 3) they give away for free themselves :/
All I did was add glare1more's other game to my wishlist (which is more than I would have done in any case, I would never buy either game. Bundlefeed at best) even if glare1more really really sucks.

Nice thread! I have a request/suggestion for you, if you didn't mind. Is it possible that at different times when more games get fixed, you could temporarily add them to a separate table section titled something like "Recently fixed" and could put them into the main fixed section later when you have a new batch of fixed games to show? You don't have to do this but it might be nice for those of us who check your thread regularly for changes, not having to check through all the games again every time. As far as I know, Grimm, HITMAN™ 2 and The Descendant provide us these free card drops, while Glare1more is a paid game that you could get for free through some ways. If you know any other game that fits these conditions, feel free to share. I will update the list if there's more games.
Tip: Even if the game doesn't give you a +1 on your library or drop cards, get it! When the dev fix the problem, it will start to drop cards (if the game has it) and count +1 on library. The games Dark Matter, Glare1more and TRAPPED are a proof ot that.
