I'm kinda confused... if you do a giveaway BEFORE the base price drops, shouldn't you be safe from a CV drop...? Sorry if I'm asking a dumb question, SG's system still confuses me x'D

the solution is just to give away a ton of unique titles so that a few dropping in value does not affect your level

After you give away a game 5 times (whether in the same giveaway, or in multiple giveaways), it will begin decreasing in value. The value is decreased by 10% for each additional copy. This means if you decide to give away 8 copies of a $10 game, it would add $74.39 (10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 9 + 8.10 + 7.29) in value towards your level. This has little effect on the majority of users, but prevents individuals from receiving a high level from gifting a large number of promotional gifts, games obtained through pricing errors, or keys from contacting game developers.

A lot of that could be due to games like Deponia, that when there's a sale on a pack that includes the game, that's the price that the api reports instead of the price of the game, that increases the cv quite a bit. It happens with several Daedalic games and maybe a few others.

It's not that difficult to keep your CV from dropping.
- Give away games and/or collections that will never be bundled (e.g. CSGO, or Celebrat10n TrackMania).
- Give away at least $30 worth of such games every month to keep up with deflation.
- Give away newer Call of Duty games or AAA titles by Ubisoft and Bethesda. Their prices go down slowly.
- Never, EVER give away a (non-Valve) game that costs less than $30 unless you can do it before it gets bundled.
- Profit.

Yeah man...this site is full of good hearted people no question about that,but its not user friendly.I had 2 or 3 encounters with the mods here and man...I think they have this requirement like a person has literaly have no brain or no idea how to use it to become moderatore here,honestly,you will have more meaningfull conversation with actual bot.Sadly community just accept all of this bs...so expect it in the future

Nice, I just dropped from lvl 4>3. I was sure it was going to happen because I had 4.02. But it took longer than I thought it would so now Im a little pissed :)
