I use to check my public GA winners, even when I give away terrible games. Yeah, I know, I'm a bad person! Last 12 public GAs I created, I had to request 5 rerolls.

One of these guys had 26 games not activated. 26 is a very cool number, first time i see that much. I taught it deserved some attention and love so here's something ONLY for rulebreakers:

Also something for everyone else:

(Yes, I am aware that if you request steam to delete/hide games from your account, your sgtool check will result in rulebreaking. Still what do you think about that? Is it legit to delete/hide games you've won on SG?)

NO, I don't think so. People shouldn't enter for games they don't intend to play.
Hell there's a level 10 on this site who hasn't played a single win of his since he joined -- just +1's for e-peen and card farming for Steam level.

How do you know? Is there a tool to check it? or are you stalking him :P
I'm just curious about it.

There's a script made by a particular group.

How can you tell if someone is farming card or actually playing the game?
Technically speaking, there is no way to do that IMO.

I don't know the script, but achievements as indicator would be my guess. Most games that have them, will give you the first couple ones for simple stuff like talk to this NPC or finish tutorial within the first couple minutes of playing. If someone doesn't even have those but the typical playtime to farm all cards, it's rather obvious.

Yes, it is possible. But,

  1. Not every game has such storyline achievements.
  2. For a human, it's easy to tell if an achievement is "not missable" if they played it. But it's hard for a script to do so unless you specify such an achievement for each game you wish to check. And that defeats the purpose of using a script I guess.
  3. Even if an achievement is not missable, it could have been the winner quited before getting there (maybe they find the game too boring, too hard, or simply they don't like it etc.)

So my point is, even if it is possible to write such a script, its result wouldn't be very reliable.

I have seen 7 non activated and multiple wins, hopefully I won't see much more. 26 is a feat.

If you won it, own it.

Well, that's certainly a novel use of sgtools! What if someone enters the first one via a leaked link rather than passing the check -- will you ask for a re-roll or is it okay because they're just another kind of rulebreaker?

I don't know if you can get banned for a leaked link or if it's just consdered "immoral"

i wouldn't use sgt unless you want to avoid them. if you want to punish rule breakers just keep making public/private GAs and blacklist those that can't be suspended any further.

and that question,
most people won't even launch their won games, but

it's ok because it's not against the rules ^^

I've created very few sgtools GAs, also for that reason. More public GAs might also encourage new people to become gifters with a benefit for the community.

I've won 200 games and played very few of them but that's because I don't have much time for gaming, not because I'm a hoarder :P

I've only played 13 won games so far, but I've completed 8 of them. I know that isn't a huge number from the number of games I have won, but I plan on plugging away and getting that number consistently climbing higher.

I wish I had seen it earlier.
One can mark one of their recently won gift received (and activate the gift later), so that they can pass the SGTools filter w/o breaking any rule.
Evil me ;)
