On the topic of the entire generation, every generation always says that the CURRENT generation is the most spoiled, the most idiotic, the worst examples of humanity etc etc. Even if all of that were true, it comes down to the generations before them for not being good teachers and allowing the generation to be whatever they say they are.

I'd agree and disagree on the point of the generations before them not being good teachers. A lot of why the more recent generations haven't been educated well isn't so much that no one wants to teach them, it is that they cannot. It starts with the parents either not caring enough to be parents or having to work and not being there to teach their kids and leaving it to others. Then with others like schools, they have to follow certain guidelines and woe to them if they actually try to punish a child who is misbehaving or not doing the work.
What it comes down to is the kids' parents and it's not even fully the parents' fault any longer since parents can't even discipline children in ways that work. Things started going downhill once parents stopped disciplining their children and discipline started getting called child abuse. Put simply it's a minority of parents that have ruined everything.

You can't believe how some of the freshman/sophomores act at my high school (I'm a senior). They literally act like they're 9 and the students who suffer from mental disabilities (Don't want to call them retard since some of them are pretty cool) are more mature than them. It's really sad when that happens. I really lost faith (I work at my school's laptop repair center since they give us school issued laptops. I'm the guy who fixes them along with my brother and 2-4 others) when a freshman brought in he chromebook 2 days after we issued it to her and it literally looked like it exploded. I can't explain how it looked other than exploded. She dropped it off a balcony and down 2 flights of stairs at a wedding. I'll let you guess if she had insurance. The same day she got a new chromebook she came back 3 class period later (Wasn't working at that time but my brother was) with her screen cracked and fucked up. I have more stories of this kind if people wish for me to continue.

Even my brother that I have taught to be more mature than the rest of the kids in his class, he still managed to contract that disgusting teenager attitude that you are describing. He acts like an adult, but the mentality of a teenager is still with him.
