For about two weeks, everytime I open up the Steam Store page in my browser (Chrome) I have to put in my login information and use the Steam Authenticator. Before that, I only had to do this when I logged in from another PC.
I didn't install any new software or changed any settings.
Anyone having similar issues? Does somebody maybe even have a solution for this?

Things I've tried:
Deactivated 'Enhanced Steam' extension
Deactivated all extensions
Reset Chrome to default settings
Created a new user profile
Switched browser to Opera
Cleared cache with CCleaner
Changed IP

Nothing worked so far... :(

UPDATE: It seems like disabling the script 'Steamgifts Steam Ratings' did the trick for me and for everyone who used that script and also experienced that issue.

UPDATE 2: You don't use scripts and you still experience this issue? Here's a possible solution by Talgaby:

"There is an option in the Steam client's Settings, under Account, to go into Steam Guard management and de-authorise all devices. Apparently, one of the PCs I used got a stuck login info and it constantly logged me out. De-authorising fixed the issue."

If the problem origins from extensions (I actually have a few on desktop chrome), then can you explain to me why I can replicate same errors in extension-free firefox, opera, mobile chrome and even in mobile steam app? In my case I can sustain my login on steampowered.com domain up to 14 days, but no longer than 3 days within steamcommunity.com and in the latter sometimes login session can timeout in less than 5 minutes since last http request.
I'm not saying you are plain wrong, but I have doubts, because I have some http experience and only other time I saw such a problem was when I was participating in testing a large (script-wise) website. Ultimately, we found that scripts were the root of the problem - but on the server side. There was a bug that caused properly sent session data not being received and passed internally by one of the scripts. Symptoms: lost login sessions, lost basket content, text and image upload causing forced log-off and form lists loading as empty. Interestingly, these are the exact symptoms I have with steam.
BTW, enhanced steam extension is prone to timeouts while fetching the data, but in all my testing it only resulted in additional data not being injected and loading vanilla page properly.

as far as reading your posts, i couldnt see thru the rudeness in each of the posts leading down to this one.. beyond this one you may have some validity, but upto this point all i have seen is a rude snob.

yeah, don't you know that you're a nobody :P

lol this rude disrespectful ass doesnt know what they are talking about. ive seen many other complaints on browsers.. if this douche would simply delete all of their cookies related to store.steampowered.com they would deeply regret their comments acting as if they know better then all.. i believe the problem lies with how valves cookies work, there was likely some change recently to cookies that are causing these issues. those that are not effected such as this know-it-all, are on an older cookie that pre-dates these complications and causes them to be issue free. but some people will defend valve at all costs, cause it cannot possibly be them. as far as extensions causing problems, i have disabled all extensions and tried that so its unrelated to that anyways.

edit: made it gender-less in case this douche actually does happen to douche..

update: here is 4x additional users who are having the same problem while not using chrome inside this topic alone, not counting the other topics different browser issues, 1 2 3 4

In my case problem spans over 1 year, two Win7 installations, 3 browsers, 3 mobile devices. Clearly they're all bad and steam is good. Maybe Gabe just hates me.
Don't take me wrong, I really like steam, I use it a lot more than Origin or Uplay (blah) and have a magnitude less problems per hour with steam that with it's competition. But let's not pretend that steam is perfect. And dealing with steam issues every day gives me a headache.
The only service I never had real problems with is GOG.
BTW I have second account for smurf CSGO since april and strangely I didn't have single problem with it yet. Maybe because I don't have mobile auth on that account.

No it's not, it's quite normal Steam behavior that happens to tons of people every week. Biggest culprit is the weekly maintenance but sometimes it happens couple times a week, sometimes none.

they thought they knew what they were talking about all over this thread, and a few points they said were accurate. but most were not. and that is okay, but to be rude about it at the same time was not.

and yes you're right, maint time is worst.. i think its actually something to do with the way they send out DNS updates, i think every X amount of time the DNS servers refresh and send out its ip address updates to each of the other servers locations, and during this time the login doesnt seem to catch that people are already logged in.. something along those lines.. but no, it was never the persons PC.. just a common hiccup in the infrastructure of the servers.

Glad to be of service :D

Most people use Steam so little they will never encounter even common bugs like this, not to speak of the random bug of the day/week/month flavors that make even less sense. Worst ones you can't even come up with a theoretical explanation for.

But anyone using Steam a lot and especially at all hours around the clock knows fully well that these things happen, Steam as usual.

I'm also having the same problem. I realized if I go to community pages I seem to be logged in. But on store pages I'm not, it's really tiring to enter the stupid Steam guard code every time I visit.

I do, but scripts on Tampermonkey are only in effect when you visit the page it was installed for. They don't work anywhere outside.

Also I don't have automated cleaning feature of CCleaner enabled, so nothing deletes my cookies either. I will let you know if I ever find a solution.

Because it seems like that this was the problem, at least for me.

That would at least explain why I have this problem since about two weeks and never before.

Could be a security breach of some kind. I would change my password. One thing that causes you to get logged out is if the same account is being logged into from another computer. If I'm logged in at home, and I leave everything as is and then visit a friend and login from there, when I get back I'm often logged out at home. I know with 2FA this isn't supposed to be possible, but I would change your password just in case.

except I stay logged in when there is some bigger amount of time between ip-changes. It only logs you out when loading the site within ~a few/10th minutes of the ip change to mitigate in-session phishing attacks.

How much does you IP change? I mean, it's possible that session cookies are not invalidated if only the last number of your IP changes. This is something that can be configured in the server.

Dynamic allocation, number change is fairly random but always more than a few digits.

Getting logged out for that or not is solely time-dependent.

Chrome users seem to gets this in the past times. Looks like anyone who uses a browser instead of a large-scale memory allocator is free of this bug though. I use Opera and Vivaldi on four different PCs in total, and those browsers have the same engine as Chrome, and don't have this bug on either, so it is not Chromium-related.

Hmm interesting. I may try out Opera today.
But I still don't understand why I didn't have this problem before. Oh well...
Does Opera also have extensions/apps?
I'm asking because there are a few SG-scripts I couldn't live without anymore :)

Same engine, same apps. Opera has its own extension store, but one of them lets you install any Chrome extension on it. Same with Vivaldi, only it uses Chrome Store by default.

That's pretty peculiar. I'm not all that experienced with Chrome (I've used both at times, but Firefox has always been my primary). If you haven't already, check your browser settings. Sometimes they wind up changing during updates, or new options are implemented.

I have the same problem.
Even if I don't close my browser then it logs out after a while and I have relog in.
However, I noticed that this happens in the store.
If I open https://steamcommunity.com/ then I'm logged in. If I click anything that redirects me to store.steampowered.com then I have to login, so that doesn't work as a workaround.
