It's Diwali Festival for us and we celebrate the victory of good over evil this day every year since the ancient times in our culture.
I had added our culture deliberately because of many people across countries celebrate it :] also I thought of it as a nice time to promote "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam"
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is a Sanskrit phrase found in Hindu texts such as the Maha Upanishad, which means "the world is one family".

Being a festival of lights, things are looking up all around me, but pangs of blue hit me just as i was about to sleep. I was reminiscing my happier, wilder college days, and I realized I had no one to share the feeling with.
Time sure passes fast. So I wish you live the life you always wanted! And live it now!

Happy Diwali :')

Sorry for late replies, have been a bit tied up!
More info regarding the festival courtesy my brother :
The fourth day of the Diwali Festival (20 October 2017) has various meanings across India. In north India, Govardhan Puja is celebrated as the day when Lord Krishna defeated Indra, the god of thunder and rain. In Gujarat, it's celebrated as the start of a new year. In Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the victory of Lord Vishnu over demon king Bali is celebrated as Bali Pratipada or Bali Padyami.

The fifth day of the Diwali Festival (21 October 2017) is known as Bhai Duj. It's dedicated to celebrating sisters, in a similar way that Raksha Bandhan is dedicated to brothers. Brothers and sisters get together and share food, to honor the bond between them.
