What are your thoughts on No Man's Sky?
Pre-ordering seems like a really terrible idea in any game, and to be honest this one seems way too overhyped which makes me sad. I am still really excited for it, but I just know all the disappointment that is going to come sooner or later.

It's been some years since I last pre ordered a game. I will not do it for a while, wallet don't allow, and sometimes the game doesn't deserve that.
I will just wait for a good sale to get this. I don't care about those reviews. I want to play it, without being affected by other people's judgement of the game. And I bet I will love to play No Man's Sky.

Where is the poll option for "I already have it since I had $1300 extra"? But being serious now: The game seems really great and I think I would enjoy playing it but... I already have couple other preorders going on and backlog is also there, breathing back on my neck. So maybe later :)

It has my interest for sure, but I'll be waiting on reviews, and possibly a sale if I don't get any decent income anytime soon :/

Same thing I think about all games that are not released yet: NEVER TRUST THE HYPE
I can only think of 1 game where the hype was apparently justified.

Some users on another board pointed out some similarities between NMS and Out There Omega (i quote : "Beyond the basic principle, alien languages, module supply with different isotopes and materials, slots-based equipment with effects on adjacent slots and shared between modules and inventory storage.")
Out there omega was a beautiful but short game. I personally liked it and would not mind whether a little similar in 3D. What do you think about ?
(edit : it was a moment that I was wondering : If this game a 3D starbound ? If this game the new X3 ? Unfortunately not. But this Out there omega comparison is seductive)

That's an interesting comparison, they definitely share some similarities.

Totally agree with you.
I will also wait for some price drop. Too expensive now.

No hype ... only neutrality ... just lay down your ears to these songs. Some of them are ok-ish but some are masterpieces. My favs are "Asimov" and "End of the world sun". With no further delay i bring you 65daysofstatic - No Man's Sky: Music for an Infinite Universe

Amazing band. Tbh, when I've heard they were the responsibles for the game soundtrack, that increased a lot my hype for it.
I don't even know why but I really want to play a game that 65daysofstatic were involved in.
EDIT: Of course I also love the overall concept of the game, love the sci-fi theme and what the game promotes as features.

I don't know if I made more than 6-7 pre-orders in my whole gaming history. From what i can still remember i pre-ordered Grim Dawn, The Witcher 3 and now No Man's Sky. The first two mentioned are pure epicness. Let's see if i break the chain with NMS or not.

Voted, but the option I really wanted wasn't there. "I planned to pre-order it but none of the pre-order sales were very good and the incentive looked kind of mediocre so I'm waiting for a sale." lol

Really wanted to see a bit of it. Pre-ordered today.
Did you watched it? Any thoughts? Chat reactions? Were people liking it?

There was another 2 streamers that just gonna banned as well =(
I watched it for like 15 minutes.
I enjoyed what I saw.
I closed the chat because people were fighting because of the game.

I watched about 40 minutes today while I was at work. There was just one weird bug that happend:
-he landed the ship on a round rock
-he jumped down and started to mine the rock until nothing was left under the ship
-the ship just stood there in the same position as it was landed ... but in mid air
-the guy jumped into the ship using the booster-pack to reach it
-he pressed something just to move the ship...
-the next second he was above that planet ... in space ... exactly above the point where he landed the ship
It was like the textures clammed and when he moved the ship the planet kicked the hell out of him.
Even so, with the rest of the gameplay i was ok. I'm trying not to hype and i'm trying not to judge before i receive the game and get it fully installed. Yeah...i pre-oreded it a week ago and i won't regret it even if it fails at launch.
The game has so much potential ... but it's all in the developer's hands.

I saw early promos for SPORE (this is a great one to watch), and there were tons of amazing looking gameplay features that never made it to the final version. I bought it right away and was right away deeply disappointed. I still really liked the game, but it was nowhere near what my expectations held it up to be. :(
I tend to not buy anything so quickly anymore.

The long-awaited No Man's Sky is almost here.
But as some of you may have read, a leaked copy was sold early, and one man paid $1300 for it.
The owner played the hell out of it, streamed several videos and has posted his thoughts and findings on reddit.
Among his observations, he mentions several bugs and strange design choices, and a lot of people are very surprised that he reached the center in a few days, much quicker than the devs had suggested it would take.
When this trailer first came out 2 years ago, I was blown away. I loved the look of it, and like many others I got wrapped up in the hype and everything about the game sounded perfect.
Personally, I always wait a while after new games are released, to see what everyone thinks of it, to read a few reviews, and to wait for those day-1 patches that are becoming too common these days. I'm still very interested in it, but probably gonna wait a while before buying it, if the reviews are positive. But I wanted to see what everyone thinks about it. Did anyone pre-order it? Are you buying it on PC/PS4?
