Just wondering, what major cities do you live closest to, and how far is it? Do you know if other SG:ers live nearby and have you ever met any of them? If not, would you like to if given the opportunity, and what would be your "dream date" if so?

For me, Stockholm is the closest major city. I live about 1 hour north of it. Only know of Fnord that lives there, and never met him. I think he's a fellow board game geek. So if I ever met him, it would probably be to do a gaming session. :)

I live in germany, approx. 30km away from the city of "Münster".
The closest "well-known" city in the area is probably "Dortmund" which is ~100km south.

Never met any SGers ;(

I live somewhere between Kiel (not so big city) and Hamburg (a bigger city :D).

Funny how every other person first starts this thing about: "what ever you call big city...." :]

I never met anybody from sg (yet) but I've met gamers before. Like from wow or even just from story writing forum, which is not really gaming but more the internet thingy :D
An ideal date? That's a though one, since it is aaaaaalways different with whomever you are meeting. But since I'm not so much into running around places (unless there is something interesting to see), it might be nicest to go somewhere relaxing and eat and drink something. The problem with that is the talking part, but since we are all gamers, there should be some common ground, right? And depending on the chemistry and mood, one could do anything really from there on.

So, can we now like make a journey around the world purely staying at sg gamers places? :D

Like couchsurfing.com :)

We went to Kiel one or twice when I was a kid with the ferry from Sweden. We went camping a lot in Denmark and Germany with a caravan.

Well going by ferry is pretty easy from sweden, I guess :D
I've never been though. I already dislike the cold here, can't really imagine it being any better further north :]

Yeah, Caravan holidays in Denmark and Germany. Sounds pretty familiar :D

Is there such a thing? O.O
But then there should be something to enter for, because we try to win games, why not try to win a stay at somebody's place? :D

How did you like it? I think Hamburg has some quite nice places - although I don't go often. To many ppl, to loud, to much stress -.-
Ha, but it would be in Florence ;)

I was with a friend of mine, she live nearby and we did a trip to the city center.
Is a nice city: a lot of fancy shops (most not in Italy: P -uhm, maybe there's a Lego store somewhere in Italy), exotic restaurants and some interesting museums.
It's pretty sad that it's all new and it looks like an industrial / office discrict, for italian standard (I guess?)

Florence is a boring city XD It's ok for art and museum, but not for nightlife cof cof
The people of Florence are... just a bit opportunist so (eventually) pay attention~

Mhm... all new? Well Germany had a bit of bombing happening - especially to bigger places. But as far as I can think, even Hamburg has some old places. But all in all it is way newer looking as Florence. So I see what you mean :]

Ah, don't know about the nightlife. I've been there as student and we had lots of running around and looking at art going on. And churches and museums and David and stuff :D
Oh right, and painting and a bit of shopping, since we were teens who wanted to have something of this trip :D

Well, you know where I live ;) Södertälje is also relatively close, which is a major city by Swedish standards, but probably not by international standards. And yeah, I'm a board game geek.

Never met anyone from SG living nearby, but I travel to Croatia last year to meet someone from SG.

NYC, I'm practically only 5 minutes from it in NJ (PP is the name of a town I live in). The town on my profile is actually my hometown where I grew up but I don't live there anymore. Never met SG'ers from PP, FL or RF.

I quite literally live in the major city closest to me - NYC. As a local though, we wouldn't call the borough that I live in the "city" since it's not specifically Manhattan. Not sure if that made sense

I am from Podgorica, Montenegro. This city have around 200 000 people and that's around 1/3 of all people in my country. I think that closest major city from here would be Berlin(Germany), Rome(Italy),Paris(France) or Instanbul(Turkey). I am too lazy to check on google maps but I think that Rome or Istanbul(or Ankara) are closest to Podgorica. Know two other SG user, but I told them for this site.

If you compare it to Sweden, then most of our cities would be villages or settlements if they were in Sweden, and if you look at number of people living in that cities you will notice that people usually live in central or south regions of Montenegro. By the way there is 21 city in Montenegro.
