"Pre-order to get this bonus mission. Or wait literally a couple of weeks and you can get it as DLC, probably at a cost that gets absorbed by the Steam release discount, having had time first to assess whether the game itself is any good from user reviews. Or even better, why don't you just wait a few months and for a fraction of the price we're asking now, you can get this mission, a whole bunch of other DLC, and the necessary patches to solve the bugs that inevitably come with rushed AAA games (if we bother to fix them at all, as we hate PC gamers in favor of console users) in the GOTY edition."

Wait what? I viewed the image before reading and genuinely thought this was some kind of a sarcastic complaint someone made about pre-orders. Pretty poor marketing attempt, heh.

They have tried incentivising us for years with pre-order junk, and I think people are finally realising the pre-orders are a big risk especially when the games often need huge patches. So they've given up trying to be nice about it now. "Pre-order or you'll NEVER play this mission..." for at least 1 month, and even if we didn't ever release it, you wouldn't really miss it because it's probably only 30 minutes of extra content that's very similar to everything else already in the game

Simply wait 18-24 months and buy the unavoidable Goty/Deluxe/Complete edition of the game during a steam sale. Publishers are bascially begging you to do so at this point with their bit by bit release tactic. Either sell the full game on release day or get less of my money at some point in the future....
Oh Ubisoft.... Always the first to reach a new low when it comes to this stuff.

People supported with Pre-Orders the system of "i get anything extra for the risk of a very overhyped game".
Mostly that hits exactly the point.
Now the gameindustry want more money and i am sure it will give much more as enough people that are willing to pay PRE-ORDER prices in the future too.
The people have, often, (much) too much and are often sheeps (from her brain and behavior -follow the mainstream/hype).
I never pre-order.
I am not the target group because i like only a little part of the games that have such pre-order "specials".
So it hits me not really and i wish each one excatly that what he deserves.
When this is a extra level... have fun. As long as you can.
Because with your Buyer mentality you make it worst/bad over time.
And as a personal thing: UBISOFT ist one of the worst things in the gaming industry. I try to avoid ALL Games they distribute. Only with this step you can hit such buy and destroy companys.
They buy little studios with nearly finished GOOD games, bring that out and after this they close the studios and each one of this studio that want not move to a other country or at least other city is fired too. Ugly behavior from my line of sight.
And the support for the customers are very bad too.
Try to get your account + all saved informations deleted.
I had this fun .... needed ~3 months and at the end my threat of a involved Lawyer (with his name, phone number and so on -so it was clear that it was not only talking...-). They are not willing to delete the gathered infos of ONE Game, because they would need it for "support" and such stuff for ALL Games. When you force them to delete the infos you can't use any game from them (all you own and had activated are gone then). In my case it goes around a browser game, can't remember me on the name.
That experience was years ago but i am sure they are still the same a**holes.

People insist pre-ordering is a risk to the consumer (which it is). They blast companies especially because the rewards don't match the risk ("Oh cosmetics? Who cares" "DLC? Will just get bundled into the GOTY in a few months" etc).
And then if the companies do something exclusive that would actually compensate for the risk being taken by someone that pre-orders? The same people blast the companies for offering something of actual value that they want, but which they refuse to take a risk to get.
Hopefully said people realize how insane and untenable these positions are to hold simultaneously.

This is something assassins creed as been doing for years, cutting content and putting it as collectors edition or preorder bonus. Old news.

I said that myself , just read the whole thing . Cutting out content is old news but the way they tried to "advertise" is ...is.....new.

Not really? It's the same as any other preorder, you only get bonus if you preorder. And they're calling this mission a bonus.

First of all...is this memes? 'Cause well if it is it's very self aware and i would applaude gamestop for that but honestly i think gamestop is too thick for self referential humor. So let's presume is not and what the fuck lol? From 'preorder now for extra bonuses and goodies and blargh blargh gharrrgh' we came to 'preorder you little fucks or we are locking parts of game '. Not that they didint do it until now ,it's well known that big scummy publishers do it already but none of them there so thick and moronic to admit it . What a time to be alive...and no i didint make this pic in 2 minutes using paint, that's official gamestop ad.
