Counterstrike, Battlefield2

Am gonna go on hipster mode and name a game that is a bit unknown - Nitro Family. It got some nice ideas for it's time and it ain't that bad of a FPS.

I like Sanctum 1&2 too. These are FPS + TD.
Sanctum 2 is faster than the first one, so more suitable for CoD players.

If you're a realism fanatic like me, play Red Orchestra rising storm. Ostfront is a lot better IMO but people barely play it so go for rising storm. WW2 realism at it's best

Arma 3 is seriously good.

But my favourite is the free 2 play Urban Terror.

For me the best FPS games are Serious Sam series, Unreal Tournanment (3 and 2004) and Painkiller .

Counter-Strike 1.5

Aliens vs Predator 1 & 2. Other than that most games I was thinking about has already been mentioned.

F.E.A.R.

-System Shock 2 (not a pure FPS, but dang, it's one of the best games ever made)
-Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield (Tactical FPS, best of the series)
-Swat 4 (Another tactical FPS, about as good as Rainbow Six 3, but different as you play as a police)
-Serious Sam (For when you just want to blow stuff up. Lots of stuff)
-DOOM (Still really fun)
-No one lives forever (Humorous spy action, great level design and lots of personality)
-Aliens vs Predator (the one released in 1999 (oddly enough the publisher claims that it was released in 2000 on steam, yet every other site claims 1999, and my boxed copy also says 1999))

Necrovision is pretty good.
