It's worth?
Question: does anybody know if they patched the crash when you're advanced in the career mode? I had to play it not original since it's not on steam to buy but I think they never fixed that bug (you had to start you entire career mode from scratch) I think on consoles they fixed it. It's a shame because this is the only NBA 2k that I reallly enjoy (way more times than the new ones) and I was planning to buy it before that crash ruined my experience.
BTW: before to accuse me for playing an non-original game, in my defense I sometimes test the games before I buy them... and sometimes the 2hrs time from steam is not enough (I spent more than two hours in NoManSky and I didn't like it) And everytime I like a game I buy it (maybe not inmediately but sooner or later I end up buying it).

thank you for understanding! In fact, that's why I was asking if they patched that crash, so I can check if I can find it somewhere else and buy it (since the only thing that prevents me for trying to buy it is that crash... and that it's not on steam for purchase)

Highly recommend if anybody has this game to download the Ultimate Base Roster the greatest sports game mod I've ever used... You will have the full rosters of every NBA team in history as well as a lot of others (even fictional teams from movies, etc).

Has the UBR site moved? I get this message when going there now:

Also, was the UBR ever ported to newer versions of NBA 2K, or do newer versions have other mods that replicate the same historical experience?

If you use jdownloader you can paste the download links from those archive pages into the LinkGrabber and it'll automatically navigate through the adfly spam and extract the actual downloads.
Otherwise if you want to download them manually you'll want to strip off the archive.org portion and just use the adfly portion of the links (and probably disable adblock/umatrix).
I'm not sure if the newer versions of NBA 2K allow as much modding. There are custom rosters for the newer games but I'm not sure if they can add teams or simply replace existing teams.
