Did you Played/Seen BBT/DW
Actually Battleblock was made in 2013.
Besides I don't think it's inspired by that, just similar plot.
It's like saying every zombie game is inspired by Resident Evil because it's a Zombie apocalypse

Hi.
Well, now I see, BattleBlock Theater and Deadman Wonderland have something in common.
Deadman Wonderland is a 2011 anime, which is about a 14 year old boy that put in a prison known as anime, Deadman Wonderland, an amusement park attraction where prisoners are playing in deadly games to raise money for the prison.
BattleBlock Theater is a 2014 game, from the creators of Castle Crashers. Our protagonists are imprisoned (for no reason) and get their release should try to pass the deadly levels to gain their freedom.
The possibility is possibly remote, or just coincidence, but I think in a way the game is inspired by the anime.
