For some reason the last game I won, Midnight mysteries was not removed from the GA pages, yet when I click it I get the 'game won' error

When your account is synced, the site will remove open giveaway entries for games which have been detected on your account.
Awkward moment I thought this was happening all the time D:

I actually never had problem with first point. SG has never showed me a game that I have won or own.. Or maybe I misunderstood what it means.
But second change is really awesome. Personally I have had to ask only once to reroll because I won the game after entering a givaway.
Awesome.

As long as you abide by the rules and activate the game you won on your account, it would not show up anymore. (Except in the period of time between you winning the giveaway and the next sync after receiving the game. Most DLC however aren't detected by the Steam API so it will definitely help for those.

Wow. This sucks. I just discovered this in a giveaway I just won. The creator sent me a region locked key but didn't list his giveaway with a region lock. All my entries for the game have now been removed AND I can't enter any more giveaways for the game. It'd be nice if there was a user-override or at least a way to flag the issue.
If the giveaway creator made a mistake and is slow to fix it, it is literally impossible for users to enter for that game again.

Try to wait a week and mark as not recieved (if your key didn't work for you I think it's a valid reason to mark it that way), I think after that you can enter again.

Yeah, at the very least there is that option, but that's still 1 full week of being banned from entering giveaways for that game. Not ideal when you only enter giveaways for games that you actually want.

I always assumed 2 was already the case. :O
I think the changes are great!
I saw that recrntly you have to actually click "view key" before you can see the key, I was wondering if maybe you could add the option for people who host giveaways to check if the winner has seen the key yet or not?
I have a person at the moment who won a giveaway about 3-4 days ago, they are online on this site every day and it often says "online now" when I check, yet the key is not marked as recieved, and if they won't activate it after a week and I'll have to contact support for a new winner, I think it's useful to know if they even saw the key or not (since if they did, there is a chance they also used it, but if they didn't we could tell the key is safe).
I also think it would be cool to have a "send a reminder" option when people who won didn't activate their win after 3-4 days, since I think some people just forgot, and giving them a reminder when half of the activation time has passed might make them activate it before their time will run out.
And one last suggestion - could you add the option to filter games that were in free giveaways from being seen on the main page? I mean like I can filter out giveaways that are not for my level, so an option like that to filter out games that are marked as ** would be nice as well.
A temporary solution to people who see giveaways for DLCs they own - you can just manually go on each of them and mark the option to not see them on your feed again.

Both are very welcomed, especially No2! Thank you.

It's impossible to enter Guns of Icarus Online giveaways, if you won Guns of Icarus Online (Beta) in the past.
Beta was only temporary and the game was now removed from the Steam's library. If you want to join a giveaway for the released game it shows "Previously Won".

Suggestion to improve this system:
Remove previously won games from giveaway list (at lease when "Hide games you already own?" option is set to "Yes"). Because I just encountered a giveaway of a game pack I already won and activated, and it feels strange that it is still in giveaways list for me.

Nice. I really appreciate this site for their huge effort just for giveaway but it help people's like us who can't afford to buy new games. I won 20 games so far in 4 months or so and also did some giveaway which I cannot activate in my reign or already have. Love to contribute more in this and thanks steamgift for taking care for game lovers.

Hi SG,
The site has just been updated with a couple of changes for entering giveaways.
You can no longer enter to win games you have previously won. You'll see a "Previously Won" error. This occurs when you have won the game in the past, and your win is marked either "Received" or "Awaiting Feedback". If you do not receive your gift after one week, and mark the giveaway as "Not Received", then you will once again be able to enter giveaways for the game.
When your account is synced, the site will remove open giveaway entries for games which have been detected on your account. Points will be restored if any giveaway entries are removed. This way, if you buy new games or redeem bundles, you don't have to worry about searching for and manually removing your giveaway entries after syncing. As well, automatic syncing now occurs more frequently, and your account will be synced every 48 hours when you visit the site. This might be further shortened to 24 hours in the coming days.
I think the pros far outweigh the cons with the above changes. I believe this will greatly reduce the number of support tickets. Issues with users winning a game more than once, or winning a game they already purchased, is by far the most active support category. This should not only benefit support, but reduce the number of tickets giveaway creators need to create, and cut down on delays for winners receiving their gifts.
