Hitman will not be played as long nor be as fun, this is almost a well known fact unless you play single player exclusively and even then Borderlands 2 will have 5 characters to try and play with.

Indeed hard to choose, both may be the best games of this end year to me. If you don't care for the money sparing, get BL2, otherwise wait for the GOTY and take Hitman instead.
