Well, it's been a glorious day, I've reached the magical number of 4 000 on my filtered game list.

I tend to filter everything, that's

  • too early access,
  • looks more like a weekend project,
  • seems to be someone's very first game ever,
  • has more asset store items than custom made items,
  • has overwhelming negative reviews despite being in the market for years,
  • looks more like a cash grab,
  • not even optimized to be played on a computer

...also a bunch of other stuff...

So... question time:
How do you figure out which games to filter?
What are your criteria?
Did you ever "unfilter" a game?

(Check the number of your filtered games here.)

Finally, time for a few GAs:
LVL 0
LVL 1
LVL 2
LVL 3
LVL 4

I hide everything that does´nt make me wanna play it :p
Started off as an overwhelming task, sometimes doing hiding sessions of more than 30 minutes, but it was worth it!

Yep, Steam keeps surprising by daily adding games that I can't imagine wanting to ever spend my time (and/or money) on.

3519 games right now and I find more to hid every week.

games I'm not interrested in, dlc where I don't own the base game and dlc I actually already own (so I don't mistakenly enter)

You can hide games you own with a checkbox in the settings menu!

I already do that, but a lot of dlc and CEs / DEs / packs aren't reported correctly via steam API. Plus there are lots of games on steam I see there ore here for the first time... and so I often find new ones to hide.

9,605 and counting. Basically if I see a giveaway for a game I don't see myself playing it goes in the list.
I don't recall unfiltering a game, and I don't plan to go through that list just in case I filtered something by mistake. My backlog is big enough as it is.

I currently have 8910 games filtered. It's fairly simple how I choose what to block, I only enter for games I want to play and block everything else.

Here is a list of the type of games that I block.

is there a way to do more than 1 game at a time? I usually open up a few tabs, one for wishlisted stuff and see if theres anything i can get in a trade easily, so no sense in trying to win it. open up a tab for groups, then open up each game and check out their steam page, if id like it i wishlist it and continue down the line, if its something i dont want, FILTERED!!!! repeat repeat repeat repeat

Had nearly 1500 about 1 year ago. Then revisited a game I had on there...decided to delete everything off my list. Now have 186. Almost all are dlc that I already own or bundles of games that do not show up in my region, or that I already own. Can pretty well run down a page and decide quickly if there is anything interesting to me. The other big change is I usually pick games from my wishlist..so no need to negotiate the public giveaways that much.

Why did you delete them?

There was a game I was looking at and thought maybe it might be worth a try...but it turned out I had hidden it from myself on
Steamgifts:) I tend to be picky about what games I try for as I lack coordination and speed when gaming. Decided that I could just filter everything myself. I now tend to put anything "interesting" on my wishlist and generally use that to select games to go for
