Longest break from gaming/Steam?

Steam +- 5 years
Gaming in general, maybe 3 months max.

2 years (when I decided to stop playing DOTA2)

Taking break from july to december 🙏

Few weeks at most when I was sent of to a construction site in the middle of nowhere .

Had no internet and barely any electricity...Only generators . Fun times .

I remember when the mobile company installed the signal spreader on top of the building , but they had no cabling so I used some FTP cable to wire it up ..

It could only spread signal like 500 meters so I was taking m PC on top of the unfinished hotel , doing raids and stuff .
Fun times indeed ... I miss working on site. Now I just sit-in an office working o schematics all night ;/

Since the end of PS2 before PS3 launched until FFVII Remake announced.

Had to take almost 3 months break from all gaming some years back. Guild Wars 1 broke my wrist quite badly, I wasn't able to use mouse for that time because of the pain.

Other than that, I don't think I've had longer voluntary breaks since I was like 4 years old.

Three years maybe. I was too dedicated to studying, music and drinking for gaming.

5+ years. I only got back into buying/playing Steam games within the last few months. Finding out about the gifting / trading side of things was what really made it exciting again.

I've been left without teh internets for about 2 months when I moved into new house, so I didn't play much (I mostly had online/multiplayer/mmo games installed and I couldn't download new stuff).

Sure I take a vacation sometimes.

Go out in the wilderness with no computer and no phone.

Helps keep perspective.

(but for now I've got some Mass Effect to play ;)

Sometimes I just get burned out on games all together, thats when I sit down and build a wooden model sailing ship. Last time was about 4 years ago.

A couple weeks or maybe months when work was pretty draining a couple years ago, I was too tired and with 0 motivation to start playing something when I got home.

For Steam specifically a few years (like 7), between the release of HL2 and 2012. My first account got hacked and banned in the meantime, so I had to make a new one when I got back in 2012.

Ranging from a couple of weeks in my earlier Steam days to a couple of days in more recent times. :O
