Well, I'm not the biggest fan of platformers honestly, but something about this game give me a different vibe. It is absolutely beautiful and gorgeous. Something about the artwork really intrigues me. I have always loved atmospheric games. When I first watched the trailer(s), I noticed how nice the soundtrack was. It's really well done. This game seems much more than a platformer, it just shows such unique styles with a nice story and it really makes me want to play. I added it to my wishlist the day it was released. It's just one of those few games that I know I will enjoy and will definitely play once I get it.

I've had this game on my wishlist for ages. I just love the visual style of it, like a dream world to disappear into. I've always loved platformers, especially Donkey Kong Country on my SNES, but I rarely bump into them these days on PC. Last I played was Limbo, which I really loved (very nice visual style too). I've only heard nice things about Ori, and I'd just love to explore the world (I like to explore and also do 100% achievement runs) :p

I'm getting this game at some point, when I can afford it, but It probably won't be until next year, so would love to win it here, so I can play :)

First off, this is a really awesome concept for giveaways - makes sure that games find a proper home where they won't just sit, collecting virtual-dust.

As for me, I've actually been looking forward to Ori since it came out (well, 3 days after, but close enough), mostly because I am a huge fan of metroid-vania style games (the art-direction really helped to draw me in).. Since then, I have checked out and added multiple songs from the game's soundtrack to my personal mood-music playlists (<3 Light of Nibel), while also staying away from any/all story-related discussions on the game, so as to keep myself blind from spoilers.

Oh God, yes! I will play it! It's on my wishlist and I suffered through Student123's diabolic puzzle just to have a chance to win it. I hope that convinces you.

I know it's only been in my wishlist for like 3 days, but I only really started using my wishlist last week. I hope that's not a problem.

I've already played Max: The curse of brotherhood and Child of light, whice are really close to the style of Ori. And I loved them very much.

"you have two more days to start playing it before blacklist"

That seems harsh. Apparently you have no idea about what kind of internet connection some people have. Depending on the game, it'd take me up to / more than two days to even download a game.
Jeez.

Guess after that I don't even need to start to argue why I would wanna enter the giveaways for Ori and the Blind Forest.

Disclaimer: I didn't mean to go off on a rant, it just happened somehow. TLDR version is in bold below

Sorry, I don't mean to be an ass, but it frustrates me when the hour counter on Counter Strike/Skyrim/TF2 and the likes keeps going up while the rest of the games aren't even touched (I get that these giveaways aren't AAA titles, but I specifically requested in my giveaway that the folks should only enter if they wanted to play the game and warned about the blacklist).

In any event, the gifts were marked received yesterday in the early am hours EST, so most of yesterday, all of today, and two more days; total of roughly 4 days or 96 hours. Let's round down and assume the winners have 80 hours to download and start playing the game, the size of which is about 1.4GB rounded up. Let's round that up even further to 2GB = 2,097,152KB which they need to download in 288,000 seconds. That allows them to download the game on time if they have speeds of up to around 7.5kbps, and after looking on various forums, it seems that playing CSGO on average consumes about 100-200MBish per hour (let's assume the average and say that it uses 150MB per hour, or 153,600KB per 3,600s which requires a connection of about 42.7kbps.

So, assuming that folks are playing CSGO online, which I would say is a fair assumption, they would have internet speeds of about 5-6 times the amount I'm asking for to download Valiant Hearts on time.

these were just the random forums I linked, I've looked at a few - looks like they all listed pretty consistent numbers - generally anywhere between 100 to 350MB per hour; and again, this is going based off my past experiences with my GA winners (your mileage may vary).

Found a neat site for calculating the download speeds, and with Ori at 8 gigs, you'd have to have a REALLY slow speed for it to take even 2 days. at 512 kb/s it would take less than 38 hours still.

Shh, if I'm lucky, I get 360kb/s - yay for living in the middle of fucking nowhere.

lol the timer depends on the size of the game

No shit. I know that. But if it's a game with decent graphics, it probably is 6GB or more and well, it takes a qhile to download something if your download speed is 360kb/s max.

lol yea I meant my timer (for people to start playing the game) will be adjusted based on the game size

As I noted in the other thread prior to the edit indicating there would be a separate thread, Ori is exactly the type of game I have focused on winning on SteamGifts. I have been looking to find a game that has a visual style that appeals to my girlfriend so that we can enjoy a game together. She is not a gamer but occasionally gets drawn into the visual style of games enough to swap out our TV downtime for gaming. Ori fits the bill perfectly. You cannot beat getting additional time to play a fantastic game while making your girlfriend happy.

Among other games, I played both Trine games, plus Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. This one seem to have the same fairy tale feel. I'll play it for sure before Xmas.
Why before XMas? Because I'm getting it during the XMas sale otherwise. :)

2D Platformers are one of my favorite types of games, I've been playing them since the nes days from Super Mario World, mega man, and Duck Tales to more modern games like Shovel Knight, Super Meat Boy, and Spelunky. I've heard nothing but good things about this game and from I've heard its challenging, which is my favorite type of 2D platformer.

Even if i'm not chosen this is a unique idea and thank you for doing it.

However. Since I have no way of knowing if my crappy GPU can handle the game, I'll have to skip this giveaway. Thanks, though!

Ori and the Blind Forest is getting a definitive edition due out at Christmas. Current owners will pay a "comfortable" upgrade fee. The edition will include new content, new abilities, and some refinement to gameplay mechanics.

It's on my wishlist almost since it came, and I'm almost done with SS3 and Gauntlet, so I'm looking for the next good game. Also I have a thing for those artsy/wierd games, like Antichamber, Braid, Child of Light(one of my favourites), Transistor, Tengami and a few more that I have but haven't played yet :3

The art style of this game is beautiful, and i heard it will be even better, they are planning to make a definitive edition or something.
And common 96% positive reviews, who wouldn't play it ?? And the story seems to be its strong side so... its just a great game

I think that along with Dust an Elysian Tail and Valdis this is one of the best looking platformers out there. It seems to be an amazing game with cute characters and an incredible story. The fact that it hasn't been bundled yet even though is not a new game gives an idea of its quality. I saw your previoys GA but decided to wait for Ori because I love platformers and it is one of the few games (Shovel knight would be another example) that I would play rightaway. For me it's a AAA game. I'm relatively new to pc gaming, less than 2 years with Steam and have had Ori on my wishlist since August 1st. In any case thank you for sharing this awesome game, you'll make someone very happy

The first time I checked this game out I was blown away by the visuals. Games with unique art and a great soundtrack pull me in. This looks like one of those games I won't be able to put down and will keep going back to. It's also been on my wishlist when I first discovered it a day before release. Of my games won I am proud to say I have beaten and achieved 100% on many of them.

It's been in my wishlist for a while, and I rarely put games in my wishlist that I'm not actually interested in playing. I'd add how many times I've entered giveaways for this, but the list doesn't currently show past the last 100 entries.
