As the title says do you? Were the cases interesting? Is there a general storyline? Is it a good port or a bad one? Rockstar had a pretty bad record for pc ports so that's why i am asking.

I played it on Xbox, completed the 1000G on it in a couple of days. The game itself is good, but it gets a little bit repetitive as most of the cases are fairly similar, long dialogue etc. The free-world aspects are also kinda pointless, all you can really do is drive about. A bit like the older Driver games.

I can't speak for the DLC though as I never bothered with it.

I expected an action game, but it's more kinda adventure. Store page states that, but I didn't see it. Don't expect something action styled like GTA, like I did.
It may be good, but I stopped after the first mission/case because I fell asleep. :p

I was wondering the same. Just bought it and I would like to know more people's opinions.

That's kind of pointless doing it afterwards

Yeah, but many times I first act and then think. Which is not highly recommendated.

I just wanted to get some feedback in order to accurately rate it among my other priorities.

That's definitely not recommended :) Anyway, it depends on your attitude towards point-and-click adventures. This is just a high budget version of that style of game.

Oh! I love them, I may have like 10 or so different games of that kind. It's similar to SCUMM ones?

Any Point and click + Shooting and driving must be a must have.

And, yes it isn't definitely the best way of behave. :)

All the cases are interesting. There's no story line for the main character in the 30 hours I played, you pretty just much move up in ranks starting as a street cop to traffic, then homicide and etc. You might hear a little bit about your partner and yourself during the commutes but that's about it.

I never finished the game; I didn't heed the warnings about not playing a lot at once and play just a bit once in a while. You get so bored after a while, you literally don't want to press play anymore.

A buddy of mine told me he loved this game. You just have to know you arent going into an action/adventure game and you will be fine. Lots of people picked up this title after it being over-hyped due to it's immense budget and voice acting and thought they were going to get some huge action/thriller game. As long as you know you are going to be playing a more laid-back mystery game, you'll find the game quite enjoyable. Well worth the amazon deal price of it couple with GTA4 Complete, and San Andreas.

Terrible PC port, but good game. A lot of interesting cases, but the "Truth, doubt, lie" system sucks. If you accuse someone, but you're wrong, you are forced to restart that part all over again, leading to frustration. The writing, voice acting and facial animations saved the game from being bad. Investigating feels alright, as driving also does.

You're not forced to restart. You can fail all the interviews and still finish the cases because your answers don't matter.

You'll definitely will restart though because it's literally like watching a crime TV show. You get it wrong and you're missing out on information. If you're missing out on information, it's not fun.

I dont like the game that much. You might choose a line of enquiry that you think makes sense but your character flies off the handle and insinuates theyve killed someone even though youre just talking about a cigarette packet or something.

If you enjoy the gameplay and don't mind a bit of a slog at times you'll dig it. All the cases are cool to watch come together, but the process doesn't change up much and some cases feel very throwaway. Even then it's a unique experience and I think one that should be approached if you like adventure games and stuff like that.

Turn off the sound cues btw, shit's just a waste of time and holds your hand.

Good game, but it's a bit repetitive, so then, it's quite boring. I expected something like "Heavy Rain meets GTA", but well..

It's wonderful, well-ported, has interesting cases, and has a good overall storyline too. Some of the commenters on this thread didn't understand the game/are crazy/etc.

If you like detective stories and film-noir, if the 50's in america is a favorite theme of yours, if L.A. Confidential is one of your favorite movies then a thousand times yes. It was like all good detective movies in one game for me, loved the storyline and feel of the game. Also, the port was good.

It could've been the most perfectly evolved point-and-click type of game, but it lost faith in itself halfway through so it included lame shootouts, annoying car chases and mundane drive-from-here-to-there parts.

'tis alright overall.

I agree is you think of this game a shooter or gta clone you will probably hate it... if you think of it as an adventure game its pretty unique... you will probably start seeing the facial animation like in this game in the next generation... its not perfect but you can tell there is more layer on animation then anything currently on the market

No, the game is really boring. Its always the same gameplay. The story is not so good either. There were some good cases but overall it is a boring game. And the port is ok, but could be a bit better
