No sorry, I have the game on my wishlist but I'm totally clueless about the genre

fun game, but you should look for a good deal on HM2, thats what you really want.
Its a longer, harder version for fans of the original game

Played it recently , its quite impressive but short. Thats something to takw into consideration

A lot of people see the short main story and say it's not worth it, others see the game with all it's challenge modes and the endless maps as whole and say it's totally worth it.

The main story can be beaten in about 2 hours, the story is not good but the gameplay and map design is great.
Then you have really well hidden secrets in each map, giving another few hours of searching if you're interested.
Afterwards you can play the campaign in different challenge modes (but without story), which alter the gameplay by weapon limitations, game mechanics changes or give you speedrun times to beat.

I played 19 hours so far and did not complete all challenges yet. The mechanic itself is super fun and i like the small changes with huge impact in the challenges. For me it's totally worth it.

If you think about buying it, there is a -15% discount that every owner of the game can request ingame once and then give it away. This discount did stack with the store discount while it was active.

edit: by the way, i don't really see the similarities to Hotline Miami, so i don't know why this came up ;)

It's not a killing game, is more a surviving rogue-like game, and maybe seems bad, but it's freakin awesome, and you can grab some cheap copy, it was free before. Also, maybe you already now, but the team from Risk Of Rain are making a new game called "Deadbolt" and a lot of people already say that is a side-scroller-hotline miami. Also, they release a demo of that game to test the first levels.

I was lucky enough to get a coupon (-33%, not a deal breaker, in my opinion) but if I could have I would have paid full price eventually. And it is AMAZING, but you need to master it and it can get frustrating. Currently my computer is busted and I have been playing a lot of BoI, but I'll keep on keeping on as soon as I get it back, until I am the very best!

It is a great game that gets over looked,i have not played it yet but when i found out it was like hotline but tactical i put it on my radar for GOG since i prefer using them first for obvious reasons.

I do wonder if people think of more like being like Breach&Clear as i thought the same before looking at videos and such.
