If it's serious enough for you to use your wife's card after having yours blocked, see a therapist soon. A readiness and need of getting better are necessary for healing - you seem to have both if you ask random people on SG for help.

lel till you have the money for it I don't see what's the problem. (first world problems really) I can barely afford a decent game myself, I can't even buy a bundle for a few bucks. Sorry for not feeling sorry for you.

What does your family say to this? O.o 'Cause I'd be pretty annoyed (not to use harsher words) if my hypothetical husband was buying games no one would play (and used my card for that after having his blocked). Not to mention that I'd went insane having so many unfinished (or not even started) games - I'm incredibly frustrated that I have like 20+ games, no time to play and I'd like to beat them all (well, except Enclave, but that was an accident on my part).

I feel your pain...I've already set aside 1200$ for 20 PC pre-orders this year alone. That doesn't include any unannounced titles or speculated titles to be released in 2014. It also doesn't include indie games or bundles...or consoles which I'm on the edge about getting one or not (only games that intrigue me are MGS, Uncharted, FF games, and the possibility of RDR2).
Oh and I wanted to get a new liquid cooling setup this year but we'll about that later along in the year.

Dang. I'd really recommend waiting at least a little bit on those to get them at a discount. Most games are given a 33%-50% discount pretty fast on Steam. There are a few games that aren't on Steam, like Blizzards games, but I'd imagine that most of those are through Steam. At least you should pre-order the ones you want the most and then wait on the ones you're going to wait to play a bit. I know that I take quite a while to get around to playing games.

Compulsive buying disorder is a real thing. Seek therapy.

The cure is simple and obvious. Uninstall Steam and all games, then find another hobby :) There's no other way if you're addicted.
You're too ambitious about gaming and there are many better ways to devote your energy to, like working for charity.

Between two 3DSs and a Wii U, games for those consoles (and a few more for the PS3 I inherited,) and a handful of Steam games... I think we spent about half what you spent. Maybe a little over $1200. But that's for two people, and we won't be needing to buy any new consoles for a good long while.
Damn, dude.

I'm confused, you're either full of shit or you're buying only newly released games for Australian prices.

I not spend for games at 2 yers 200$ Instead buy bundles, buy what you want at daily sale or other (wintersale, summersale etc.), you will get better games, which you will play, and probably spend lower amount of money. Mayby you have too much money, that you can't stop that:P If you don't have many it is not hard - simple you will not have money for them. You can do themselves limit of games, which you not play and if this is over don't buy, when it drop then buy. As now you will spend moneys for something, which you never use.
You can do list of wish games and buy only that games, and don't buy bundles which not include games which are not on it.

Well. I know how you feel, if that's worth anything. I thought I couldn't stop it either but this year I just flipped the on-off switch. I have self-control, so there's that.

From Apr to Dec 2013, I spent $2,400 on PC games. That's $267 every month!!!!!!
I thought bundles could have helped me save money but it turns out that the very opposite is true. I've spent way much more money than I would have normally paid for games.
What's worse is that I can't stop it. Whenever there is a bundle, even if I know there's absolutely no way I'll ever play those games and I don't like the games at all, I'll still buy them all.
