It's a top selling franchise. They need to keep doing the same thing with minimal change to keep it profitable. There's too much financial risk in making any big changes.

Milking the cash cow that it is. The millions of 10 year old kids will get their parents to buy it anyway. One of the primary reasons gaming has been going down the toilet in the past few years.
