It's missing something though...

Little bit of both.

If you read it, it says "(if you want)", so by thier own choice are they doing this, if they do not care about recieving a reward, they will still do it.

Go look at the submissions then look at your post again and see if it still applies.

For me, just having made something is already enough reward. If in the case I get chosen I'd like to be credited but it's not like it will really matter. I still have a copy of what I made and that is enough for me.

Also some people like to contribute. There may be people who won a lot of games here but never or almost never give a game themselves. I won much more than I gave too. It's a way of giving a bit back to the community.

I think it was a great idea to start this thread and generate some creativity in people.

"a proper logo design is not something easy to do" A proper logo design is more importantly not something to be found here. (don't get me wrong, some Oddllama's logos were pretty neat, it was serious deal though) In the World where people are stealing each other's ideas/work using it without a blink of an eye... This is more like giving crayons to 5 year olds. 5 year olds like to draw. 5 year olds like to have their masterpiece on the fridge. Yes, I'm 5, don't tell me what should I do with my crayons, at least I'm not eating them.

Yeah, it is so bad to work for free to little developers, these guys are worse than hitler.
