_Little Limbo was our water boy. It might sound privileged to have one, but just as us, he was a slave. We all worked from dusk till dawn; chained to our roots. It's the only life we knew as we were created to it. Old C.Story used to tell us tales of freedom. He was from a different time. When games were only made like us. Now the AAAs rule the world, those created with privileges. At least that's what the old game said.
_"Pay attention," says Limbo, "it's about to go down." He wasn't little anymore and it's been 5 years since our time at the work camp. Limbo hands me a pair of binoculars. "Look" he says as he points at a family of AAAs at the distance. I look and see their happy facades. There's a Indie servant with them. Maybe he will help us? This is the world we live in now. While they enjoy luxurious evenings - we rot, sweat and bleed for their pleasure. I notice I'm clenching my fist in anger. Limbo smiles at me, "we have to do this" and even though I opposed at first, I nod. We start to approach them slowly from the shadows. I can hear my heart pounding. Limbo is behind me. He puts his hand on my shoulder and I startle. It's as if he broke a bubble. He gestures at the Indie who had stepped away from the AAAs. It's Grimrock. He is a butch grimy man and the main reason we were able to escape the camp. "Keep an eye on the family" says Limbo and runs ahead to confront him. Grimrock bursts in tears. He grabs Limbo and squeezes him hard. I can tell he is glad and angry at the same time. His lips are saying "you need to go, live, free", but Limbo doesn't budge. Suddenly I notice one of the AAAs walking in their direction. I try to get their attention, but they don't see me. I realize I won't get to them on time so I yell at them. The AAA looks at me and Grimrock notices him. He quickly picks up a log and bashes the AAA. It was a Duty. One bash wasn't enough so Grimrock just keeps bashing him. I rush to them. There's gore everywhere. "It's good to see you both, but you shouldn't be here," says Grimrock. We can see rest of the AAA family further away. They hadn't noticed us yet. Limbo looks at me as if to acknowledge what needs to be done next. Grimrock understands this as well. We approach them and I hit one of them on the head with a shovel. It was a small AAA. I know that this particular title isn't solely to blame for our oppression, but as I view it's well dressed and groomed body twitching. The shovel becomes lighter and I raise it again and again. Until it stops twitching.

Well you basically concluded your own thread with "I guess for 50 bucks I could have bought 4878161556156 indie games in countless bundles...But guess what, I wouldnt have played them anyway..."
Some will do exactly that. Some will play them, some won't.
Some will buy both. Some will play neither. Some will play both (AAA and indies).
Some will do like you.
It really comes down to preferences. And there's nothing wrong with collecting games, either. I'd rather support indie devs (even if I won't play game ever/anytime soon), JUST for the sake of supporting them, than greedy AAA bastards.

I get your point, but seriously. Most ppl pay 1 $ for 5 games. I wonder how much you can call that "supporting indie devs"....They will see a few cents of the amout earned..

It depends on the people and if that people have the money to buy the games when it comes out. I talk at least as i bought Beat Hazard and the DLC in full price (I just gave that exemple as I have bought some more games near to full or full amount). Played a bit (+- 10h i think) and i loved it. I'm thinking playing more when I feel like playing it. I've bought almost to full buy (10% discount on pre releases) some indie games but now i can't do as my economical life is getting worse (no jobs yet) so i just wait for some discounts or some bundles. Yes it will take a while getting all the games played. But if i don't play some, maybe in the future I'll play with my son when he get the age for that.
It depends on the people really in the end. Some like to support, some will support as they can, other just buy it cheap for trading/getting the game (almost to getting dust on inventory/library)

Do buy Penny arcade 4, Zeboyd makes great neo-retro games, and with Penny Arcade it becomes even better.

It all goes down to opinions- some people just collect games because they want to... I get games because I intend to play them- I don't care if it'll take me a lifetime to do it- I'm gonna play everything (except those Ironclads... things, but I literally had nothing else to do with them)!
Oh, and playing AAA titles doesn't make you more gamer than playing Indie Games. Both are games- both make you a gamer. :P
... Um, sorry- did I answer whatever you're asking or did I completely miss your point? I kinda don't understand what you're getting at. ^_^'

Hey there steamgifts community!
In times of indiebundles and charityprograms where indiegames and even AAA games become affordable for everyone it appears to me that the fun of owning a game and get used to it becomes less and less important.
I have about 400 games in my steam library..I guess 150 or 200 of them are indiebundle games. (Which is pretty sad since I maybe played 20 of them.)
Its weird to say that indiegames cant be as good as AAA titles or stuff, but im getting sick of the fact that ppl do only collect the games and dont play them...Since I thought games are supposed to be played where basically you earn the name gamer....
My plan for the future: Buying more AAA titles from devs/publisher I trust. Bethesda and Blizzard for example. Their games keep the same price for years, their games make you really addicted and u can play them like forever.
I bought Starcraft 2 + Addon for like 50 bucks and its awesome!!! Long time ago that I got stunned by a game so much that im playing through the whole night.
I guess for 50 bucks I could have bought 4878161556156 indie games in countless bundles...But guess what, I wouldnt have played them anyway...
I would like to hear your opinion guys. :)
Peace, hexor.
PS: Im still a indie fan, thinking about buying Precipe of Darkness Episode 4!!!! Which got relased 2 or 3 days ago, awesome game!!
PS2: Sorry for mindfuck english.
