Steam and "subscribe to discussion" bug

The problem is: When I was in a group i followed one thread by subscribing to it. Later I left group but forgot to unsubscribe discussion and now everytime someone posts in this thread it shows me new comment notification which I cannot view because group is private.
Is there any way to fix it? I don't want to "mark all messages as read" everytime someone posts there.

Edit: Thanks to TartFlavor. I managed to contact their admin and fix this problem.

Message the group's admin and ask to be let back in to unsubscribe? You can also filter out discussions.
