But what do these bots do with them? You can't resell these keys (as they have to be redeemed in the second, otherwise somebody else will have it), so it's only good to bolster your own account. But even keys of games given away in abundance via gleam and similar sites are gone within seconds. Or is there a way to un-redeem keys with Steam?

Sounds plausible. However, I would hope that they at least only grab keys for games with cards then. Otherwise this is just a way to destroy keys, making them unusable and for sure the games will never be (really) played...
