Excited for the release of FO4?

View Results
YES!!!!!
No...
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

When I start a rpg I try to plan my first playthrough in advance to create the best character ever, but I always fail miserably and then restart multiple times. For New Vegas I eventually decided to play a character with high Luck and Endurance to rob the casinos on the strip and then buy every implant in the hospital. The screenshot was taken while I searched for a shortcut route to NV. After multiple restarts and 30 hours of testing I could finally enjoy the game. (okay the former was enjoyable, too :>).

and yes it's a staged screenshot as I did not make any during my 100+ hours playthrough :>

You come across an abandoned settlement far south from the last known outposts of the NCR. You notice a fair amount of dried blood and sand-carved bones scattered around the little towns yard, but don't recognize what has died here.
While searching the remains of a hasty-built shack, your gaze falls upon the little drawing near an outworn mattress.
It seems to be made with old grease, dirt and ancient-world goods, whose original purposes are now unknown.

will add a description later, to let you know what it is :D

Well here it is, not the greatest piece of poetry but it was still fun to write :> I hope you get the idea.
I picked Redface Macaques as my animal of choice, because they are unarguably the best creatures this planet has generated.
no offense towards wolves
I mean look at them

Radface macaques are no natives to the american continent and were instead immigrated from an island called Japan.
The individuals of this specific population are descendants of a feral tribe in the south-west of former Texas.
Due to their biological heritage from a rather cold climate they seem to have survived well during the nuclear winter that followed the falling of the bombs.
During this time, their behaviour seems to have changed in many ways, and they now act a lot more aggressive in the neighbourhood of other animals and humans. They also have adapted elaborated hunting strategies and don't hesitate to tackle prey that has a physical advantage. Still, lethal attacks on humans have not been encountered yet.Their hunting groups consists of up to 30 adult individuals, but also children seem to take part in these hunts.
Radface Macaques often seek the vicinity to thermal springs that are slightly radioactively contaminated. These springs also serve as the social centre of the tribe. Although little is known about the structure of these settlements, there are rumors that they become more and more like early settlements of our antediluvian ancestors, with self-made dwellings and places for ritual uses.
Even though their appearance has changed little since the old days, it is expected that their mental capabilities are a lot higher now than those of other primates, and that they may - and that is the cynical assumption of this author - already stand on the same or a higher evolutionary step than the lowest of raider tribes.

So, while I own all games I only played (and maxed) New Vegas on Steam, rest in their physical/GfWL versions.

As for animal, well, what I'd really would want is a cat that is not a egoistical bastard :) .
Also, foxes and cute and their tails are cuter. So what's cutter than fox with many tails? ... Well, unless they are enraged Kurama...

And sorry it's not an animal, but what would kill me, id man-eating coconut trees. As we all know, falling coconuts kill more people in a year than sharks. And they do it without malice, those are just accidents. So, imagine them really trying. You walk in forest, you feel someone is following you, but everytime you turn around all you see are a trees. So, you think you're safe and then BAM, you're hit with coconut. Then roots go out of the ground, catch you and take you to mouth for solid meal.
On the picture, where I used some internet pictures and some MSpaint, you can see coconut tree having a tasty meal out of Fallout 4 Main Hero.

As for special moment: there was something about getting that nice dress to Veronica.

So I played Fallout 1 and 2 when I was like 10-12 I think and really enjoyed them a lot, these and AoE 2 were my favorite games back then. Then played Fallout 3(loved it but didn't finished it well due to school and parents :|) in Vista but then didn't had much money so had to pirate it :| Haven't played NV yet tho. So recently in a sale bought both Fo3 and NV to re-live the experience but to my bad luck still haven't managed to get either running in Windows 10(some help from anyone is very much appreciated btw) .

About favorite moment in FO3 well there were lot but this takes the price. I don't remember the exacts as I played it years ago but I don't think I will forget the time I visited some sorta factory and came to know about the mind controlling experiments in upstairs, boy that was kinda weird but with the tone and everything kinda cool(yeah I am weird >.< ). No screenshots since I played this so long ago plus didn't knew screenshots were a thing back then :p

So when I saw Fallout 4 announcements obviously it all started coming back to a point that I had to replay FO3(but no luck) and these days saving every bit of penny(well some spent on SG ofc :( ) I can to get FO4 xD

Also didn't had much to do in the SG downtime+weekend so drew my own kinda mutated dog variation(sorry about the potato art skills :p) that is bit inspired from Naruto as well xD Its a 6 headed dog with medium build with long claws. I know this is not your typical Fallout monster style but wanna draw something different yet that can fit in FO universe I guess. This thing can breath fire as well(lel my imagination) and its claws can rip your guts out in a single shot, also can see 360 angle with its heads ;)

Also like to salute you for doing this :D

I know it might not be canon to Fallout, but here's my shot:

Zoos were stocked with all kind of exotic animals to please the crowds. When the nuclear fallout swept them, some died while others survived to be reborn as a new breed of predators in the hostile wasteland.

Thus was born the Wasteland Dragon (Novus Varanus komodoensis)

Much larger than their ancestors, the Komodo dragons, the Wasteland Dragon grew up to 7m (23 feet) length and over 1000kg (2200 pounds).
This change of size came with another set of limbs to sustain their body.
These reptiles adapted to be a night hunter. The mutated eyes (3 pairs) allowed them to see even in pitch-black conditions, thus a theory was born that they developed a sort of thermal vision. While usually a lumbering beast, the 6 legs were powerful enough to spring a trap similar to crocodiles. If the prey was merely bitten, the Wasteland Dragon would simply let it limp off while slowly following the scent. Soon, the prey would succumb to the very dangerous bacteria living in the Dragon's saliva. Eventually, the Dragon would catch up to the carcass and devour it in the same patient manner.
The Wasteland Dragon had little competition in the new environment. It used its powerful tail as a whip to deter attackers. When all else failed, claws and fangs were the weapon of choice.Almost immune to poison, it was usually left in peace by the oversized Radscorpions. The only real threat was an adult Deathclaw, which could easily slice the Dragon's tough scales. Even so, one bite could mean that even if the Deathclaw won a battle, he would still die shortly after due to the infection.

And here's a badly photoshopped image of it, as much as my skill and imagination can go. Hope you enjoyed my tale :D

First of all, sorry for the bad quality drawing. I noticed this GA contest today only. :) I know though that skills don't matter ^_^
I own all the games on Steam, and have physical copies of FO1-2-Tac-3 as well (hence the low gameplay time on Steam for these games), my favourite is Fallout 2 (and I'm afraid it will remain that way, no other games can take the throne).

Hellrats

Some courageous rats made a living of hunting Fire Ants in hordes.
They overran lone Ants, or separated one from the others. Then they ripped the Ant in pieces while avoiding its firebreath.
Thanks to their "extraordinary" rat-agility, 5-6 out of 30 huge rats stuffed themselves; the rest usually got incinerated.
After some years, the new breeds eventually got resistant to fire; some even became able to breathe fire.

The original generation, scientists call them Breed Zero or B0, was not too resistant to fire. However, due to the continuous consumption of Fire Ants, their fur slowly turned red, or rather, rusty.
Their offsprings, True Breed Fire Rat or T-Rats, however, were born with fully red fur, and even their whiskers got a reddish hue. There were reports of them breathing small flames harmless to people. On the other hand, their bite was poisonous. If their saliva got in the blood-stream, it caused excruciating pain to the victim. "Felt like fire burning inside" - surviving victims explained.

Hellrats, B0 and T-Rats as well, can be found near any major Fire Ant hive.

The Tribe of the Fire Ant happily hunt Hellrats on daily basis. They call them Rat out of Hell and cook delicious meat loaf of the killed rats.

The Mother

"The day the bombs dropped in 2077 towering buildings were brought to rubble, thousand-year cultures demolished, human life lost, and entire animal species decimated. In Stone Zoo, Massachusetts, less than a handful of the once vibrant and diverse animal population remained. Among them Oscar the ostrich survived the blast of radiation from the nuclear fallout by burying its head in the ground when the bombs went off.

Although Oscar kept his head protected, the rest of his body was irradiated causing weakening of the wings, unnatural growths of skin around the exposed neck and extra-muscular, trunk-like legs. Eventually Oscar's wings, which acted as a shield during the blast, sloughed off the ostrich's torso, making room for his now over-sized legs.

After days of starvation confined in his cage Oscar resorted to eating his dead mate's carcass; after weeks he resorted to auto-cannibalizing his fallen wings. No one knows exactly how the eggs emerged from the ostrich's plumed body, but guesses are they appeared after Oscar ate his born and unborn young. Some say eating his family made Oscar feral, others say the radiation melted his brain--and still others speculate he shares a hive mind with his unborn children.

Today, Oscar's name has long been forgotten. The Ghouls simply call him "The Mother"

Not sure if this counts since it would be on the honor system, but I own Fallout New Vegas on steam, Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics on GOG, and a physical copy of Fallout 3, but I gave the physical copy away to a stranger on Steam Trades who had nothing I wanted to trade for it (turns out he was so grateful he later bought me a copy of Bioshock 2!).

Thank you for hosting this contest aurorable! I had lots of fun creating the description and drawing for Oscar, my rad-ostrich.

1) Requirements
I'm level 6 and in good standing with steamgifts! I own Fallout 3 on steam, the original Fallout trilogy on Gog and Fallout new vegas on PS3.

2) Drawing and description
Introducing the Hoinks! Originating from pigs born in Vault 982, an underground facility where experiments were conducted to breed animals in extreme/hostile conditions to gather a constant reserve of meat during a nuclear war. After testing different kinds of synthetic fodder with no success, a new "light" and heavily modified version of the F.E.V. virus was used. The initial results were promisnig but the pigs started mutating in a way that no scientist could have imagined: they quickly developed a deformed humanesque physique. Standing on their feet with their bulging muscles and newly acquired sharp claws they quickly killed every human in the vault. Now years later they have invaded the entire north region of Nebraska. If you hear their terrifing scream, you better start running. They always hunt in packs!

Tips:

  • if killed their meat can be used to produce the best rad-hams that a survivor can have!
  • if you see a hoink with insects flying around it you should kill it first, it's the leader of the pack, the "Alpha Hoink". They are usually called "Lords of flies"

3)Screenshot
You'll find a screenshot from one of the best part in F3: Memory Lane!
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=288831891

Thanks for the event Aurorable! you'll find in order: proof 1 (gog games), proof 2 ( PS3 game), The magnific "piece of art" of a hoink and my favourite fallout 3 screen.

I can't wait for the release o Fallout 4 and i'm getting more and more excited every day and with every new gameplay video. I don't know why but I always loved this one paticular way of dying and I often run with combat shotgun and Bloody Mess trait just to trigger this animation. Maybe something is wrong with me ;D

Imagine a forest... Huuuge forest, where leafless trees stand side by side as far as the eye can reach. Nuclear war didn't wipe it off the face of the earth, but all life within died after "The Great War". Or did it?

People of Wasteland are avoiding this place because they know stories....
They know stories about people who went to the Forest and never came back...
But maybe they never came back because they found that huge Vault that supposedly is somewhere in the middle of the forest.
You will never know until You go there and find out yourself...

Back in the day before nuclear exchange when trees were green and sky were blue there was a man- a billioner, inventor, survival freak who spent last few years on preparing for the end of the World. He built his own Vault, he even run survival camp in this forest every single year.
On October 23, 2077 there was a survival camp ongoing - two hundred man (it was a male month camp) inside the Forest were training their survival skills. When they saw bombs flying up in the sky they hide in the camp-founder's Vault adn they survived...

Time passes, they live underground and they know they are doomed because they can't procreate. They will all die and they think that civilization will be lost forever. Vault door became open for the first time. They went on the surface (Forest remained habitable, with low and tolerable level of radioactive fallout) and as they were survivalists they caught some slightly mutated animals AND THE TWISTED EXPERMIENTS BEGAN.

I present you HUMANIMALS

Let's not go to the details but in short: the billioner, inventor managed to create some kind of animal-human babies. With the help of 200 men thousands of them. Diffrent kinds with almost every animal that can be found in the forest. Sometimes they were more humanish and highly intelligent, sometimes more animalish - wild and with primal Instincts more developed.
Those highly intelligent grown fast and they were helping with further procreation and with keeping vault operational.
Those wild ones were kept in special cages, but as it is in real life after some time one of the "oryginal" man revolted against everything, he killed the boss, freed wild ones, opened the vault and run, died, other men propobly died to, many creatures died that day, many fled and here we are in that Forest full of stories.
Forest inhabited with mutants that mixed in many ways during all those passing years.
Horses with human hands, stupid cat ladies and highly inteligent and most ferocious wolves that made alliance - some kind of wolves pack - and let's say they rule in the forest and sleep in the vault. They walk on 2 paws, and know how to use human weapons.

Good luck with your quest in that forest Chosen One

After a week of hard work ok, ok, I'm lying, I remembered the deadline just today I'm ashamed proud to present you the new terror of the wastelands: the Bludgerigar!
Evolved from the regular budgerigars, commonly kept as pets, this new species of bird is similar in apperance to it's ancestor, but, while still cute, it cannot be considered harmless. The three beaks have small but very sharp teeth which the bird uses to shredder the meat before eating. The two horns on the head are actually weak and are presumed to be used only during the mating rituals. The claws on the wings and feet are sharp and the bludgie uses them to attach itself to the victim. The twelve tails with stingers are poisonous and are the main weapon of this bird. While the poisoun of one specimen is not deadly to humans, the bludgies tend to attack in large group, paralizing and then devouring the victim. While it sometimes scavenges if needed, it highly prefers to hunt for the food instead. It's usual food are various type of rats, brahmin and unaware travelers.

Don't have many screenshots on steam (and can't remember where I put my old screenshots anyway -.-"), so here is a storm starting, while I'm roaming the wasteland after trying to take a shortcut to the quest location and ending up being blocked by mountains ><

Flesh Widows

The year is 2077. The nuclear remains of what once was Washington D.C. is now a desolated desert of destruction. Nearby, a nest of Black Widows begins to feel the first waves of radiation. The mother dies and the eggs start to grow faster and bigger, until eventually they can't contain the new generation of spiders they were growing. The prematured spiders begin their quest for food, and while most eat each other, some go into the wild to prey on insects, but their new body size requires them to hunt bigger food. While the early generations fed on small rats and big insects, the continuing disruption of their DNA made them grow each time more on size, which was balanced out by growing a second body. With this addition, they were able to harness more poison and spider web, which allowed them to hunt for bigger preys, such as bears or humans. While most live in caves, some wonder through the wasteland, moving from one place to another after laying eggs.

im gona try again xd, i am lvl3, i do have New Vegas on my account, played it 90 hours and going xd, love the series, and i left some more writing on page number 2 of this thread :v, i dont have much mind for creatures, but i can pitch a concept for a Fallout game :D

Heres my concept

The enclave is back, somehow somewhere, the remnants have managed to put themselfs back together and decided that they are gona make home on the center of the NCR, like before their tech is above anything else and its in the hands of "The Star" a former vault entertainer, from a sister vault from Vault 92, but for actors and comediants etc, he must roam the streets of Los Angeles, and gather a group of unique characters to not only stop the enclave, but to make a name for himself, because he will find out, in LA, its hard to be a star.....

Ok. I have my animal beast. It's gonna be Flammable Giraffe. Not every animal on the planet got mutated from nuclear radiation. One of those rare examples are giraffes which after the bombing got enveloped with flames. The only strange thing is that this flame is never going out and the giraffes are still fine. One of scientist say that explanation for this phenomenon it's pretty simple but he got burned to death before he had any occasion to share his research. Now you can meet those majestic creatures roaming through wastelands like it was some safari park. But it is not. Yes.

I have Fallout 3 & NV on Steam - I've been replaying New Vegas for the past few weeks, and loving it all over again :-) Second playthrough has been great fun, playing the character differently and making other story choices. Plus I get to try all the DLC, just got through the Old World Blues yesterday, good fun. You can find my recent playing hours for New Vegas on my Steam profile. I also have Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics on GOG, if that counts.

I suck at drawing, so I did something quick in photoshop to give you the idea anyway. I'd love the Fallout world to have some huge creatures, I imagine some monstrous mutated giant octopus that could attempt to grab you and pull you under if you stray too close to the water edge. Maybe an enemy that couldn't actually be killed, but rather kept you on your toes to avoid certain areas or you had to move quickly at least. Or if you had the rebreather equipped maybe you could go in the water and find some amazing loot in the depths, providing you could avoid the giant tentacles!

I've taken a lot of screenshots over the last few weeks in New Vegas. Might not be that special, but this time around I chose the Mysterious Stranger perk, and caught a rare screenshot where he has finished off some enemy for me, and we just stood for a few moments before the game continued.

And one more shot of our hero Django and his dog Rex.

Would love a chance of getting Fallout 4, thank you! :-)

Thank you very much!

And added you to my whitelist - I'm trying to give away at least a game a week to WL members. Can't afford amazing games like Fallout 4, but maybe someday ;-)

Maaaan... This is going to make me dig out my original copies of everything. I bought Fallout when it was less than a year released, Fallout 2 the week it came out, preordered Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, got the Fallout 3 Amazon Survival edition with the Pip Boy clock, and have a boxed copy of New Vegas... Plus I own all of the originals again on GOG, and FO3 GOTY and New Vegas Ultimate on Steam... This might take me awhile, since most of my old PC game discs are boxed up.

I guess stand by for an edit?
