Do you play ALL the games?
I'm being picky if a game isn't in a bundle or on a deep discount, I've got so much to play that unless I REALLY want a game I'm not gonna grab it. Recent exceptions were Dredge (still got it for about 40% off with humble choice discount), Armored Core 6 and Remnant 2. Latter two physically for Series X and I'm likely to sell on when I'm done.
I've got about four months left of Game Pass, and once I'm done with that I'm gonna enjoy mt physical/owned Switch, Xbox, PS5 and Steam backlog, not sure I'm gonna buy anything for a while (MAYBE Persona 3 Reload).

All? Nope, no way. Especially in the past I got a lot of games which are bad. Now I'm mostly entering for wish-listed games (which I intend to play), which means that I only occasionally win. And that's good, because it takes me a long time to reduce the backlog, or prevent it from growing. Realistically, I guess just making it grow slower is already an achievement.
As for achievements, I appreciate that games have them, but I don't take the time to 100% them.
Happy cakeday!

The Binding of Isaac is probably the one I played the most, it got me into the roguelike genre and I have a soft spot for it, even if Rebirth annihilated it. But yes, I'll try to play all the games I've won eventually.

I am, but not at the same pace as my backlog. I always play 1-2 games/month. I am still behind with what I won and only 29 games completed out of 130 games. I am hoping to get even further over time.
Some of them are online and I can't simply get to, but I try to go over the single-player ones. I made a mistake joining for the multiplayer ones, I thought it has a campaign and it was at the beginning of my journey in Steamgifts.

Oh yeah, multiplayer ones are...well, a different kind.
I've got Black Desert then they gave it away and it's an MMO.
I really like the graphics and character design, especially the character design, but I simply don't have a 1000 hours needed to put into this game.

I've played that game for more than I think I balanced on my profile, but yeah, it takes more than 1000 hours actually. You gotta play for 5000 at least as the game is extremely grindy. Great game no doubt, but the game doesn't care if you have time for it or not. It doesn't respect it whatsoever.

I am. Or at least well trying to. Thankfully, I only started increasing my library very recently so it's still pretty small compared to some of the accounts I have seen around here which means it's more feasible. That said I don't think i'll go for 100% all as some of them might just be too annoying to do so.
Also happy cakeday

If I am not interested in playing a game, I don't want it cluttering up my Steam account. I won't even activate games that are given away for free if I am not interested in playing them. I have no interest in Steam cards, leveling my Steam account, or anything like that, I just collect games I want to play. I also don't care about achievements and don't try to collect them. I do like to complete the games I start though. I don't like starting a game, trying it for a bit, and then moving on to something else. There are only a few games that I started and gave up on before completing.
I have been buying bundles for over 10 years and enjoy playing a lot of different games, so I have also collected a very large backlog of games that I want to play. I have been playing games every day since then, but it takes time to work though the games because I probably usually play for 2-4 hours a day and I like to sit back, relax, and enjoy the game fully, I don't rush through them.
Here's part of a comment I just posted in another thread about entering giveaways:
I only enter giveaways for games I am interested in playing, but that doesn't mean it will get played right away because I have built up a massive backlog of games that I want to play. I prefer to look through my entire backlog of games and play whatever I am most in the mood to currently play to give myself the best chance of enjoying it. Sometimes I will win a game and play it right away and other times it may take many years before I get to it (the game I am playing now I won here over 7 years ago). If the giveaway creator requests that a game is played within a certain time period, I will not enter those giveaways unless I know for sure that I will play it right away, even if it is something I am very interested in. I don't like the pressure of having to play a game within someone else's time frame because I may just not be in the right mood and if I force myself to play it, I may not enjoy the game, but if I waited until I was in the right mood, I might have enjoyed it a lot.

Happy Cake DaY!
My Steam and SG ventures are fairly recent. Thanks to some SG pages like BLAEO, etc, I realized the importance of only entering for games that I would be interested in playing. So my backlog is quite rich in quality, and fairly manageable. I hope to tackle them one at a time. 🤞
My only fear is in the name of clearing backlog, I might end up relying too much on gaming for leisure. Ideally Id hope to manage my time allotting more for newer hobbies and skills.
But I guess a healthy balance is my current goal. Currently Im neck deep into this game I won here on SG: Chained Echoes. I trusted the reviews back when I entered to win it. But was hesitant as i looked further into it, since it was a pixelated game, and quite lengthy for me. But oh man! This game is brilliant...no, excellent!! Im so thankful for getting to play this game! 💚
Who knows what one might find in their 'backlog'. Provided one is motivated enough to look through it.

Thank you! :)
If I were to believe the answers in the other thread about entering giveaways, you're far from the only one who enters giveaways with the same consideration.
I've been away from SG for a long time and got back into it a couple of months ago. It's a fun routine tbh.
You come, you spend points, you go.

Similar to you, I used to buy bundles even if there was just one or two games I wanted, as if it was a 'buy one, get seven free' deal or something. These days I'm a little more discerning because bundled games tend to show up again in other bundles (though not always).
That said, I've purchased most every Humble Choice (and 'Monthly' before that, I think). I still only get games/bundles with games I'm interested in, but at this point even if I stopped buying games there's no way I'd get through all the games I really want to try before I die (2500+ games in my 'gotta try' backlog already with more coming out all the time) so... yeah, hopefully my kids appreciate my backlog 😅
Sorry for the downer, happy cakeday 😁

Having +2000 games in library, so hard to play them all (according to steamgifts, i have play 52 % of my games on steam)
About " Do YOU play the Steam games you won ", was curious about that, and here the results taking in parts all 99 Games i have win in steamgifts.
Number of games played : 28 (28,28 %)
Number of games completed (main story or a good part of the game completed) : 9 (9,09%)
P.S : Happy Cakeday :)

For the question of if I'll play ALL the games... no. I have a bunch of games I'd rather never touch from back when I just activated everything from bundles without really thinking about it. I probably could still play them but my mood has crashed so hard over the last decade that I'd rather just play the games which I don't expect to despise. :/
Regrettably, there are a few old SG Wins for multiplayer-only games which I'll probably never play too. T.T (WTF was I thinking when I entered for those?!)
Anything new is a must-play though. If I have even the slightest suspicion that I might not be interested in playing a game I immediately hide giveaways for it. And even when I buy a bundle with games I'm interested in, I don't activate any of them until I am sure I'd play the game soon (so far that's only happened with one game...). No point in wasting them in my backlog when a friend might show interest in one of them and then the key could go for better use. ^_^

Same here, but I don't buy games, I try to get as much hot garbage I can get for free and then I sit on it. I'm always playing some game...

Looking at my stats (thanks, BLAEO!), I'm somewhat close to an equal balance between the games I've never played and the ones I've completed. Still, I keep forgetting about my SG wins to go and play some other games... and my wishlist has long since gone out of control. Add a backlog on various consoles and even though I'm always playing something, at times it seems like I'm hardly making any progress - don't think I'll ever get below ~100 games in various stages of "unfinished".

Oh, of course. I said it like that, but it's not a problem to me, since I don't actually use it much. For me, it's more like a checklist of games that I'm aware of - free games, unreleased games, games that may not be available in English. You'd be surprised how many times I think I'm hearing about a game for the first time, then I open up its Steam page and it turns out I've got it on my wishlist. Almost as if I'm not the only one using my account...
Fun fact: I used to talk to someone who would get mad at me for having such a long wishlist, because they couldn't browse it to try and gift me something. Talk about first world problems!

"Regular" people would never "get" that question lmao. But I'm playing a few more games ever since I stopped having to finish them. I'd wait until I was really in the mood for something before starting, because I'd want to finish it. Nowadays, if I have a slight wish of playing something, I'll just do it. I'll play a little, come back a few more times on different days, and if I don't want to play anymore because the game isn't that good or any other reason, I'll just stop, uninstall and move on. I've had my fun and that's enough. It's freeing and very enjoyable.

I did quite a bit of clearing in 2022 thanks to the SD. This year wasn't as good, life gets in the way. Also a few bad games in a few soured my passion. I'll get into something soon and hopefully clear some more. I stopped really buying games in recent years because they will probably cost $1 around the time I get to play it anyway.
EDIT : I do try to play the games I won at least even for a half hour to test it.

I vet them a little. Most of the time I knew what I wanted to play already, like the Batman Arkham Trilogy. Otherwise I avoid anything that has very negative unless I know for a reason it's biased or I paid for it.

I haven't played them all, but I certainly intend to try. :P
When I first got into buying bundles, I kind of went a little overboard and my backlog grew at an astronomical rate for a few years. Lately, I've been gaining ground. I've managed to 100% just under half the games in my library and finished another 40-50 that have no achievements.
According to my stats, I've completed 55% of my library, with another 10% or so that I've started and never gotten around to finishing. There's probably 20-30 games that will never get played. Those are mostly games that are SO old they probably won't run or they likely won't live up to my memories of playing them decades ago. They're in my library mostly for nostalgic purposes.
I try to prioritize SG wins, and my completion stats there are a bit better (61% complete, 18% started, 21% as yet un-played).

If I buy a game through the Steam store or I'm given a game I almost always play it immediately. However, the vast majority of my Steam library (around 900 games at this point) is made up of random games I got through bundles and I know I will never touch most of them, as much as I'd like to play them all.
It's honestly kind of dumb of me to keep buying bundles when I know I will never have time to play most of the games but I just like the feeling of having a massive library of every type of game I would ever want to play. However, having so many options for what to play next can also be a negative because I seem to spend almost as much time trying to decide what to play next as I do actually playing my games.

I generally try to but for the time being I'm limited in various ways. My main gaming PC gave up the ghost a few years ago and since then I've had to rely on a hand-me-down potato of a laptop that struggles to run anything from the last 7 years or so. I have an arrangement with a former colleague to borrow his gaming laptop for short periods from time to time but that doesn't help much, but it's something so I buy (or usually these days) enter GAs with an eye towards I will be able to play them in the future (and even further down the line when I can put my own PC together).
I also spent a lot of years ignoring/avoiding Steam so I do try and build up a bit of a library of games that I know I'd like or would be interested in but maybe wouldn't spend a whole lot on; for this LootBoy has been mostly useful and when my finances improve I may even take a punt on Fanatical's mystery bundles to a certain point.
But overall my biggest hamper at the moment is genuine free time and the cost of electricity for my laptop; even if I wait till 10pm when the power is cheaper and avoid charging during the day, it only leaves me small windows to play properly. The impending heat of what looks like a bad Australian summer this year isn't going to help. The fact that I keep being drawn back to my not insignificant collection of golden oldies retail games doesn't help either.
If I win a game on SG though I always try to take it for a spin, even if it's only for an hour or so, I don't want the GA creator to think I'm not thankful. There just don't seem to be as many carefree hours in the day at the moment.

Some time ago I've got access to a fairly good laptop and installed Steam yet again.
My Steam account is 13 years old so I accumulated a number of games over that period (700+ games to be exact).
Some of those are hot garbage bought in a time of a Steam Cards craze. But mostly there are games that I actually wanted to play.
So now I'm slowly (very VERY slowly) moving down the list of games I've bought. Playing trough the story if the game has no achievements and trying to het 100% if they do.
And yet, I'm constantly adding games to my wishlist and buying them when there's sale going on.
What about you?
