Yeah, the reason (and why I hated the Imgur revamp) is you can't use the url from the url bar (the one with /a/ in it) - that's apparently the album url and can't be embedded. You have to hover over the picture and click Copy link and use that url.
It's really stupid I know... but it got me one of my favorite games Starbound after I explained the same thing to the high priest of Barbie 😆😄😄😄
