Just got back from Fencing, showered (dah) and poured a glass of Sutter home-Pinot Noir (which is really good!) and wondered what sports does the SG users like to do?
as i said, i go fencing twice a week (amateur level~)
i swim when i'm not lazy, and i used to go horseback riding when i was younger... no time now.

what about you? added a poll, but i'm sure i forgot something.
are you professional in anything?

Edit: not many people entered the GA. all of you have the game? or didn't notice. hope you look better now

Edit 2: NEW GIB TRAIN!

I'm a professional marathon slacker.

I have managed to accomplish absolutely nothing in stretches of over 48 hours.

In related accomplishments I have also managed to avoid all meaningful conversation save arguments on the internet for similar periods of time.

Eating and sleeping are not accomplishments, they're part of the slacker lifestyle

Suffice to say I have successfully completed the "Panda Challenge," which is doing nothing but that

Nope, it's true. The sport was invented here in the UK quite a few years ago. The NY Times also published an article about it.

Soccer, Cycling, Basketball top 3 I would say. I really should swim more often...used to be in the water every single day in my younger life.

I am a professional in drinking and eating, also in cooking and in craft beer pairing.

Nice to see ping pong on there, I play in a poker game twice a week and there are about 6 guys that are always playing ping pong between games in the host's garage.

what's beer pairing?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Cicerone Certified. Not the master level, I'd love to get that at some point but my lord is it a lot of work and time.

Similar to a Sommelier but with craft beer. Try to find the perfect beer for someone's palate or for a dish they are preparing. What goes best with a Stout, a Barley Wine, an IPA, a Saison, etc. Gives a great excuse to buy new beer every week as well.

that's a job? where do i sign?

There's 3 craft beer bars in town, as well as a few restaurants that have started to look for the Cicerone certification from their servers/barstaff. I'm currently trying to convince the owner of the new restaurant I am at to expand his bottle selection and rotate taps to coincide with our monthly special menu and our seasonal menu rotation. After that is done, it's educating wait staff on what flavoring profiles go best with hops, what pairs with malt, what cider is best for etc.

Hopefully my friend gets his brewery up and running next year and I will begin developing the menu with him. Really truly drawing inspiration from Surly in Minneapolis with what they did at their new location. Brau Brothers has a very cool menu at their brewery as well, lots of use of their products in sauces/stocks/soups etc.

I used to swin, but I had to move, so I stopped. Besides that I'm always the goalkeeper in football. People say I'm quite skilled at it ^^ But I only play every now and then, so I don't practice or anything.

All I can tell now is that I'm no more but a gamer enthusiast.
