Kind of a silly ban since VPN, Proxies and TOR exist. It will, however, affect the actual porn industry in India. I guess they just don't want anyone to profit from it within the country, because the viewers are unaffected.

No longer banned. Outrage on social media was so fierce that the government back-pedaled quickly.
"A new notification will be issued shortly. The ban will be partially withdrawn. Sites that do not promote child porn will be unbanned," Prasad told India Today TV.
Which leads one to ask the question: "You mean child porn wasn't banned before this??"
