Yeah, I just saw that! Someone sent me a message saying "hey my friend wants to add you but can't, add him", once you click on "add friend", it wants you to login. Whatever you do do not login! If you check the URL it is not the official Steam.

Went to the site and sent a WOT report. Everyone should do it.

Thanks for tip, but this almost counts as calling-out (anyone remember my ArmA thread?)

You can't call out period.

The logic is, if you can't call out, you can't make false accusations. Making any exceptions would defeat the purpose.

If I had a penny for every scammer reported on the forum... I wouldn't have to leech games.

I don't agree with everything Valve makes but I have to agree that SteamGuard was one of the smarter moves. As long as you have it enabled and different pass on your Steam and email, I don't see how you could get hacked.

Ehh, almost fall for it this time. Good thing I'm using Enhanced Steam; when I didn't see it, I knew something was wrong.

Bumping for the sake of awareness, it seems to be spreading fast in the trader community especially since a lot of the people who fell for it are traders with high rep.

yes someone on my friends list who is a trader with high rep just sent me this message as well. luckily when i clicked on it a warning message popped up telling me it was a phishing site. I hope not too many more fall for this.

As has already been said, unless they are negligent enough to have the same password for Steam and your email account, I can't see how anyone could get burned by this, even if they were foolish enough to visit the phishing site AND enter their details without noticing all the telltale signs that it wasn't the real deal.

Damn, I tried to go to the site to give a bunch of bad login information for shits and giggles. I am disapointed.
