Hey all

Pretty much title. I have some Euros left in steam and wanted to trade some games I want for to or csgo Keys, but all people i asked said that they only want games or cards. What the hell happened? Some months ago everyone was fine to trade with Keys...

Nothing changed, some traders just prefer games or cards. Find another one, most accept keys. Also most traders only have bundle/free games, which are worth nowhere near 1 CS:GO key.

Something indeed changed. "Trading" of non-bundle games used to be mostly about Russians reselling games exploiting the regional price differences. It was not really trading, but we all called it like that and it worked. Now, with the regional locks in place there's little margin for such strategies and there are just not many reasons why someone should find himself with games to trade which don't come from bundles.

Maybe they don't want to wait or aren't authenticated. You're definitely exaggerating the "everyone" though greatly.

Well, I usually buy and sell games for cs:go keys. I don't know about the other traders. xD

must be the game you're looking for ... most sources i use
and know of still only accept keys

btw. since the last valve update key prices have risen, not
surprisingly cards as well since selling in the usual way is a pain
(but more worth per card than it used to)

I haven't noticed any unusual change in price.
Keys are still the same price (fluctuate between $2.44 and $2.50, depending on time of day)
Cards are more or less the same - any that had a big drop after being bundled sometimes slowly start rising after the bundle is no longer available

Funny, all I ever see is people asking for CS:GO keys; I could hardly sell games for cards and even less for gems.

Well, i want some games who were heavily discounted or in bundles recently and not worth a key, but there are still Tour of duty Tickets, arent they?

There are more people accepting sacks of gems than TODs at the moment.

Going for 0,80€ atm. Keep in mind anything you purchase on the market won't be tradable for a week. If you don't have the Steam mobile authenticator, you'll have to wait 15 more days to complete the trade.

Have you tried barter.vg?

bundle games can often be traded for Refined Metal. Those are worth about 5 cents each.

That's very strange. Given the value of keys, traders should be happy to take them over cards and lower value currency anyday...
The only reason would be if the things you are trading for are nowhere near the value of a key (say, most bundle games). But I don't know who'd ever deny a key since it's a safe $2/€2 item that can be cashed out near instantly anywhere.

^this

If you offer a CS:GO key for a tier 1 ( $1 ) bundle game, i'm pretty sure most traders will accept it instantly.

Haven't personally seen anyone taking cards over keys. Keys are very popular.

I never accepted keys, only cards and gems. he few games I have over barter.vg have keys disabled as a possible offer.

I don't play csgo and I also don't have much of an understanding of the csgo key (or other games like tf2) worth. So it's simpler to just go for the games and cards I want rather than keeping a csgo key as currency.

You don't really need to, it is more or less a fixed-price currency. If you think about it as one SteamDollar©, it is easier.

It's just a prison economy currency, basically. I can't be bothered to play it or TF2, but I definitely can sell items from both games for money.

I accept keys, cards, sacks, other games, PP, livestock, fruit baskets, naming rights (up to third-born), and textiles. Still working my way up to 1000 feedback while building a shed in the backyard for all my new goats.
