Anything on the GoT speculation that popped up in the last few days?

Ah, you seem to be more in the loop than me. I've not been the hugest fan of Bethesda :P

GoT stand for Game of Thrones?

Yeah, there's an uncomfirmed rumor that they've partnered for an Elder Scrolls-like for Game of Thrones.

Nothing even remotely close. Basically the highlights are Doom VR, Fallout 4 VR, Dishonored (DLC or Prequel), Evil within 2, and some random project.

And Wolfenstein. And that is ALL (I am not mentioning quakesport or a new expansion for their card game, but you can also put them there)

I'm very interested in Wolfenstein 2, and The Evil Within 2 looks pretty good too, although I haven't played the first one. New Dishonored game looks cool, but I'm curious how long it'll be considering it's only $30. I didn't give a shit about the rest of it since every thing else is already out and I wasn't a fan of the Quake Champions beta.

I can't understand the hype around Bethesda. Like, friends of mine and completely bent over with excitement that Skyrims coming to the Switch.

I'm like, game's almost 6 years old. That time and focus could have been spent better else ware.

Gaming industry needs some innovation. :/

Same. They remind me of others like Creative Assembly, Lionhead, even Valve-- once indie darlings, now bloated and inflexible.

Congrats Bethesda, EA is celebrating their conference is not going to be remembered as the worst of 2017.
And good luck with paid mods (credits to buy mods, money to pay credits... Do you think it is going to work?)

Honestly, I'm pretty OK with this. It's fully curated, it has to be original content (no porting over pre-existing mods, "we won’t allow any existing mods to be retrofitted into Creation Club, it must all be original content"), and Bethesda is part of the process to ensure (some level of) quality and compatibility. There's no chance this could ever supplant the existing modding community either, or cause a flood of shit mods trying to score a few bucks. We'll obviously have to wait and see how it goes, but this seems like they found the right way to thread the needle to do this "paid mods" thing.

Free mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4 will exist. But for TES6/Fallout5?

Black scenario: every modder will have choice - either release his mod on Nexus and if it turns out to be next-Jesus he'll never be able to monetize it, or release it straight away on Club and never make it free.
Which could mean most of mods will be only available through Club (only ones that won't make it there will be various tits and sex mods, for obvious reasons...).

Maybe it will not go that bad. But I wouldn't hope for that...

Every proven modder will have that choice. They still have to get Bethesda to give them a contract.

I'm pretty doubtful that Bethesda would ever straight-up ban free mods, if only because they're the source of the talent pool for this "outsourced DLC" system they want to set up. So it will have to continue to exist in some form. Nobody is going to be able to release anything straight away to the Club without having some other work to show Bethesda that they can make shit people will be willing to buy. Remember, Bethesda pays them to make stuff, then sells it. Bethesda is going to be taking a risk on every modder they contract into making Club content, so they can't afford to just let everyone in.

There is the concern that all of the quality modders get slowly siphoned out of the community and into this new system. But, honestly, if it's all quality and the prices and pay are good for Bethesda, the modders, and the customers then I have to admit that would be a good thing. Obviously I like awesome free shit, but I'm not selfish enough to think that passionate people I don't even know should make things for nothing just to keep me happy.

But probably bad, like everything that happens to gaming this days ;)

Very underwhelming, just 2 new games, at least one of them is a sequel to the excellent Wolfenstein.

Paid Mods
Fallout 4 VR - Probably not even free for Fallout 4 Owners because it's 60$ on steam now and Fallout 4 is 30$
Doom VR - Same as Above

Quake Champions is meh.

Kinda hyped for Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein the new order.

Overall kinda dissapointed because everything was leaked already and nothing new unlike last year. But still 2 good games :)

It's not like Valve doesn't sell mods already - most of skins are modder-made.

But I guess they do make them server-side, visible for everyone, not just player who downloaded mod_texture.jpg.

Yeap, I think Valve only makes the arcana's for The International only, rest is from the workshop that seem to be getting fucked up big time recently : Reddit thread

Yes, it was. At least people now finally understand it that it was Bethesda's idea, Valve just jumped ship because it would have been more free money for them for no work.

DOOM VFR - http://store.steampowered.com/app/650000/ - $30

Bethesda's conference was the worst for me. They want to sell mods again and this disgusts me as a game designer.

Sequels, sequels, sequels, VR conversions, and paid mods.
Exactly what was realistically expected. I do not understand people who expected TESVI, at BSG's usual release cycle, it should come in 2018 at best.
My only surprise is that they actually managed to hold out this long before re-introducing paid mods.

What shitstorm? Read the comments, the Beth fanboys are gobbling it up by mouthfuls. The last time it only flopped because it was added on Steam, and despite the masses of CS players, it still has a few million sane people who instantly rebelled against it. Bethesda is now on home turf and their fans happily take any horsecock in the ass as long as it comes from Bethesda. There is only a very small minority with enough functioning brain cells to try to go against it, but their voices will quickly be droned out before they give up and go back playing Morrowind (like how you are immediately nuked to oblivion if you dare to mention that FO4's randomly generated side quests seem to repeat the same two task over and over—but it gives you "unlimited playtime!").

The shitstorm between the userbase.

Personally dont care about the mods but its obvious that the donation button is rarely used atm so will be interested to see how much modders will get out of this(modders in CS:GO/Dota 2 seems to be getting 25%, in Planetside 2 - 40%) and also how Bethesda will promote them.

Not that I'm likely to get decent VR equipment anytime soon but I wish they had picked one of the good games instead of Fallout 4

Edit: Paid mods, great. They seem hell bent on destroying the modding community
