I suspect they put it on hold until their Halloween sale is over. It makes sense: why give games away when people can buy them during the sale? :)

This would be my guess. I thought it would for sure be over in August when they stopped, but then a couple weeks later it rose from the dead like a crappy second coming of Jesus. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it came back again after a sale ends ¯\(ツ)/¯
