Just wanted to let you know that the 30-dollar limit is nowhere to be found in the FAQ. Anyhoo, this bundle limit is ridiculous. I only give away bundle games I don't want since I usually can't afford extra copies of games, so I won't be doing any more GA since the site doesn't seem to care about those games.

of course I do. I could just trade or sell the games, but instead I'm giving them away in order to enter other giveaways. How's that even wrong? Are you kidding me?
Comment has been collapsed.
on bundles I only care about just one game, yes; on others I've payed the average, some times a little bit more.
Comment has been collapsed.
There are lots of people who are really happy with winning games that have been bundled before. You just dont get any CV above $30,- unles you also giveaway games that have not been bundled before. This site does care about bundled games.
If you are not willing to continue sharing games because your CV is not going up, but in the meantime you keep entering giveaways to win games, I consider that wrong. So no, Im not kidding you. Apparantly you only give things away to get more things. As I said: you are a generous person!
Comment has been collapsed.
I never said I was a generous person, and neither did I ask you to call me one. If I am giving away games here instead of trading/selling them is because I like doing so and I want to be able to enter higher-value GAs for games I can't afford. That's perfectly logical and that is how the site works in the first place. If nobody cared about the CV then they should remove the CV altogether.
And no, I do not plan on giving away any more bundle games, not if the site limits my chances to enter other GA's, because I think that doesn't make any sense. There are some valuable games among bundles and I don't think there should be a limit to the CV just because they are bundle games. I can take the 20% thing, but a CV limit? That's crazy. I'd rather give them away in galagiveaway, where all I get is feedback.

Implying that it's not generous to reward gifters of non-bundled games for their participation.
Implying that you should be rewarded for generously gifting bundle games.
Can't tell if serious or the other thing.
Comment has been collapsed.
So people that don't giveaway non-bundled games are automatically troublesome users? If they successfully gave away games, bundled or not, they should be competent. :/
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah, there is a bit of a contradiction for the same people saying to gift just because you want to and ignore cv, but also using cv to exclude you for giving bundled items lol
but its the internet so things like that don't actually hurt an argument. mostly the words are irrelevant. you just need the best cat pictureshttp://dogfort.wikidot.com/local--files/lawyer-cat/lawyer-cat5.jpg

I do understand your objections. I agree partly that giving no credit at all for bundled games seems a bit strange. I just thought your reaction was a bit selfish. As if you are only here to profit. Nevertheless it is obviously entirely up to you to make giveaways or not.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, if I was in it for profit I would just trade/sell, as I said before. By giving away more games that those you win, you can't really call that profit.
Comment has been collapsed.
Tell me, who would even dare giving away just even a 5$ sale game when he could get 24309487342486908008752438957*10^954893076 $ contrib value for one single bundle? I mean- did you pay 40$ for the games you gave away? So do you even deserve 30?
Comment has been collapsed.
Yep. I'm clearly complaining. Defferently not asking a question.

This is just how the forum is. They are MANY rude people, but this question has been asked so many times, it would be easier for you to look at a past thread. Good luck and welcome to SG

A question that could be easily answered while reading the Create a Giveaway page or the faq located at the bottom of the forum.

This has been answered, but what hasn't been said is: Thanks for making your giveaways and good luck!

yeah this so stupid, how do steamgifts know that you have bundle game or steam gift?

haha that english just in the title only XD so good.

lol, CV is probably the main reason why SG is full of high quality giveaways. and this thread kind of proves it...

Could the FAQ section explain things better? Yes, heck even when you go to create a giveaway it could explain bundle keys and CV better. They could even have a link in the menu at the very top for the FAQ between the forums link and the support link.
Maybe with the 2.0 version of this site that is coming soon we will get some better and more clear explanations of CV and Bundles and exploited stuff. Maybe then there will be less threads like this and less messages to support but I doubt it.
Short version is...
CV is here to encourage people to give away games that have not been bundled. If you look at the other giveaway sites, non-bundled giveaways are far more rare then they are on this site.
You don't want to deal with CV, then go give away games on other sites, but I would rather deal with the annoyance of CV and have the ability to restrict people who don't give games away and who only give bundle games away from my the majority of my giveaways.

Well, it's a shame you can't get contributor value over 30$ with bundle games. I'll keep giving extra copies away, but at the same time there's a voice in my head saying I should just sell the HB gift on eBay, Allegro, or whatever, and donate that money at the next bundle in addition to what I usually pay (I always BTA).

1 - Necro thread
2 - Out self as HB reseller
3 - ????
4 - PROFIT!!!
Comment has been collapsed.
I didn't say I am doing it. I'm giving away redundant games here and on NarutoForums. For free. Try reading the entire sentence for a change, or is that too hard?
Comment has been collapsed.
I guess it is indeed too hard.
And frankly, if that cash would go to HB anyway, increasing the total donation, what the hell is your problem. "Let's not actually help (more) charity, because some stupid blanket rule says so!"

It's normal, most games in a bundle are worth 0,10c.
What isn't normal is what happened to me 3-4 weeks ago. I had $60 CV during 2 months, and because one of the games that I gave away went into a bundle 2 months after I gave it away, they halved my CV. Anyhow, I still didn't rant, no single system is perfect. I also don't really care about CV, I just want to give the games away I have double to someone who hasn't have the game, makes me feel good, certainly when they add you to Steam and don't delete you, PM'ing you once in a while to have a chat, that's more awsome than any CV worth.
Comment has been collapsed.
Haha yeah my CV drops and raises randomly on a daily basis. But I don't really care.
I don't judge people who only give away Bundle games, but I judge them when they start complaining about their CV not going up. I think it's good SG has this system, what's wrong about rewarding people who gave more to the community? Nothing. In the end I am just happy when I have someone thanking me when they receive their game :)

However, it's not cool to completly disregard HB games. Some people can't do Internet payments, so it's not completly worthless. I dunno, set the bundle games value to 5% or something.
Personally, I am having trouble paying my rent. All I want is a chance to win some free games, and it just doesn't feel right to be cock-blocked because I can't afford giving away other games. It's basicly favouring the rich. Aren't Private and Group giveaways nough? Sure, I only paid the average price + 1$, but still, these giveaways are not worthless.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm not saying those games are worthless. Neither am I rich. I study, work 2 jobs so I can pay for my rent and uni so there's that. I'm just saying I don't like it when people go all "Wut, I gave away all my 1 Dollar games, where's my 50 Dollar game!"
I personally enjoy giving away games I know I enjoy and hopefully someone else will too. I don't care if they're in a bundle or not.
Besides, if you pay BTA for a bundle you could theoretically spend that money on a game on sale and receive CV. And it's not like you don't have a chance to win a more expensive game .. there are enough GA without CV requirement :)
Comment has been collapsed.
So I could either buy a game for a bunch of people, or buy myself a bundle and give away the games I already have.
I understand that there are a lot of assholes who pay 0,02$ and then expect to get everything. That's why that stupid blanket system is there. However, the principle is wrong. It's like not getting a job because you might've been a prisoner. You weren't, but you coukd've been, so no job. I know the example is pretty extreme, but it's the same principle.
Reduce the bundle games value to 5% or 10% or whatever. Don't reduce it to 0%.
Personally, I don't care all THAT much, since I'll be making non-bundle giveaways once I get my cash from YT channel (next month; PetersaberHD) and then I'll be doing giveaways from 10-15% of what I earn every time I get my money. Which hopefully will be more often than once in 10 months xD I need to learn how to advertise and get viewers...

There is a blanket ban because of the amount of value some bundles could give. There have been bundles where the value gained for $1 would be around $200 on the Steam store. That $30 cap might sound unfair to you, but even 5% on bundle games would turn $10 spent on that bundle into $100 of CV. You say the current rules are unfair, but think how unfair allowing that would be to people who do donate the large games which build nice CV.
Comment has been collapsed.
5% out of 200$ is not 100$ but 10$. And barely any bundle is worth more than 100$
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, 5% of $200 is $10. That was a $1 bundle. Like I said, $10 spent on that bundle would be $100 CV under your 'improvement'.
And even if many bundles don't reach that level of value, simply allowing such users to build high amounts of CV would be a punishment to those who actually spend money.
Comment has been collapsed.
Then reduce game value to 50cents. Reward with anything. Like I said before, a person who can only give away bundle games will just start selling them on eBay or whatever.
The guys who give away many good games already have private and group giveaways. And the poorer users are basicly double blocked, they can't get into those, and also they can't enter anything above 30$. This system is basicly rich getting richer, poor staying where they are.
Comment has been collapsed.
I've gotten into more private groups on forum activity than giveaways. Maybe those people should get to know us in the forum or SG group chat rather than complain their bundles don't let them join exclusive giveaways.
And as I've already pointed out, being poor doesn't prevent giveaways. There are still smaller games. I've bought games purely with card funds. Including my current inventory.
Lastly, I hate typing on my cellphone.

I'm unemployed and have difficulty with paying the bills on time. I can still afford the occasional game for a giveaway. Look at my profile, even some Skyrim.
Actually, I'm blaming that one for my last late payment on my internet.
Comment has been collapsed.
If you're having difficulty paying the bills you really shouldn't be buying giveaways....
Comment has been collapsed.
I know I shouldn't, I'm just one of those people who like giving to make people happy. Did more than 40 bundle games on my birthday giveaway just to make people happy. :P
Its gotten just a little addictive.
Comment has been collapsed.
I know that problem! The only reason why I'm not doing giveaways is because I simply don't have any money to spend on games. I don't use a credit card, that'd be the end of me.

"I had $60 CV during 2 months, and because one of the games that I gave away went into a bundle 2 months after I gave it away,"
That's clever. You only registered 1 month ago... Something's fishy.

I gave away 5 games (each $10) but I only have $30 as my value. Also 2 of them of are Thomas Was Alone and the other was Take On Helicopters. Does that has something to do with it?
