Just curious about that. i like the fact that you now can return games when you don't like them. i did that two times so far(nidhogg and 7 days to die= weren't fun to me)- but with that in my mind I do buy more often though.
What about you people? Which games did you return and why? Or at all?

Returned 3 games because they got on sale right after I bought them. So I asked for refund and bought them again cheaper.

I returned CoD and got a refund.
I was complaning that the game was only filled with little screaming kids saying filthy non-pg13 words and they agreed to me and gave me back my 120$
Afterwards i met gaben and played Half-Life 3 at his place.

If you payed 120 dollars for CoD, then I'm sorry but you deserve to be forced to play with screaming kids. Which cod? (but I'm glad you got your refund)

While I appreciate the ability to refund games to a certain extent, I have not and likely will not participate in the action of doing so. If I spend money on a game then I do so willingly and because it is a title that I wish to have. If the title is Early Access then yes I am placing my faith in the developers to make good on what they set out to create, usually with the fallback of a strong modding community who can pick up the slack if the game changes direction or otherwise fails to meet the original goals set at time of purchase.

Hmm.. Around 5 I think. But 4 of them returned via bundles.. :X
E.g. Sunset I bought for 9,99 € on steam because of the whole drama and that it might get removed (plus I like adventure games), and then a week later it showed up in a humble bundle. Plus how they a few days before that were saying how all gamers should just die, die, die... It made me refund the game, buy tier 3 and slide the money to 0 for them. :>

Anyways, 1 of the games I refunded I reeeally disliked.. Init .. Awful game.... It won't get back into my library unless it gets in a bundle.. Maybe not even at then.

Zero and don't plan on returning any. I always research the games I buy before I buy them so I know what I am getting into. I know about game stopping bugs before hand. I never pre-order games, I've seen too many issues with games that are pre-ordered.

I have only returned one thing. It was cosmetic DLC for poolnation that doesn't show up in multiplayer for people who haven't bought it!

Brought it on steam sale(was a daily deal I think).
Bundle came out some time after steam sale. Game was in backlog so unplayed and brought just barely over 2 weeks ago.
Created a ticket and got the refund to buy the bundle. :)
They did said refund could be for any reason...

True, got mine refunded as well.
Steam also says if a game is cheaper somewhere and you haven't played the game more then 2 hours, and you have the game less then 14 days it is allowed to get a refund

Return a game? That's crazy talk... :) I buy all sorts of garbage games, but it's rare indeed that I notice... They aren't hurting anyone just sitting in my library unplayed... Perhaps they will remind me to buy something good instead... :)

I refunded since i have steam 1 game because of technical issues....and that was around 3-4 Years ago.

But seeing that a lot of people refund a game becuase they don't like it or other reasons whichg they could have found out by looking into the game for at least 2 Minutes let me think that it would be best if valve would remove that feature again...

None. I only buy games that I want and with positive reviews. For someone with half a brain the refund system is only useful for cases like Arkham Knight.

I retuned games twice so far - first was Agarest 2, I forgot about that dimwitted censorship and wait till the end of a year, maybe they do something, second was Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds, there was an update scheduled for July to add remappable controls, not to mention constant nagging about online co-op, we have August so yeah. They're focused on Ps4 version, I'll wait with buying till they finish.

  1. The Legend of Korra - found the game pretty borring and combat was meh
  2. Super Dungeon Run - designed for mobile, released for PC and controls were a mess
  3. Unfinished - An Artist's Lament - way too short(20-30mins) to make it worth the price when you have to count each penny.

NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja STORM 3 Full Burst (2 copies): Didn't like it, I didn't care for the story (I read the manga for a while but those cutscenes didn't have the same "energy") and the combat system wasn't my cup of tea. Also gifted a copy to a friend and he didn't like it.

Valkyria Chronicles: I planned on gifting it but didn't, so I refunded it.

Also some 20 cents game that got bundled the next game.

i didn't even attempt to refund Godus because I need it in my library to remind me of the shame I have to bear for the rest of my life.
