Just curious about that. i like the fact that you now can return games when you don't like them. i did that two times so far(nidhogg and 7 days to die= weren't fun to me)- but with that in my mind I do buy more often though.
What about you people? Which games did you return and why? Or at all?

Castle Crashers, I bought it during steam sales, then a friend told me he had bought a 4-pack to give me a copy. Steam's refund saved me that day ;-;

Kentucky Route Zero because it's still not finished.

They refused as expected though, as I've owned it for ages but never played it.

Not even one and probably won't return any in the future. Unless Ubisoft pulls off some stupid shit, after I buy one of their games

Unfortunately, games that require third party activations may be exempt. If the game needs Uplay, you might be out of luck.

Ah right. Forgot about one of the main reasons why they suck, which is u(don't)Play.

2 I think so far.

  1. Finesweeper. It was really bad. It also got bundled on DIG the day after I bought the bundle.
  2. Payday 2 alesso heist dlc. Something I had bought a week before refunds were put in place. It was really bad compared to other dlc's.

Finesweeper is bad, how can someone fuck up minesweeper? Is not that hard of game to copy, it's like screwing up when making a sudoko.

It has quite a few ways that you can customize your "map". Also, you have bonus hearts, maybe even different power-ups. Also, there's a campaign-like thing that's about solving harder and harder sets, but it it still have the traditional minesweeper problem (when you can't tell where' the last mine from the two) and I think the "campaign" gets just silly after a while, all about luck

I don't know what it's like now cause I think they updated and fixed it a bit. But when it was first released when you got to a certain point in the campaign literally every other click you would have to guess. It was so horrible to play. The powerups and other features can't redeem that negative factor.

Funny thing that I didn't activate my copy after I've read your review/screenshot commentaries about it :D So essentially you replied to a comment based on your review :3 (+ some random other guys' I've read on the store page)

None.
I'm really stingy so by the time a game goes on a big enough sale for me to even consider buying it enough time would have passed for me to know everything about it's quality. :P

I never bought a game directly from steam.

I didn't refund any and I don't think I ever will. I always try to gather many info about games before the buy and that works so far.

Still I'm thinkink about contacting steam support to remove few games from my account.

Getting a $25 game without cards is a big lost if the game is crappy though.

Good point. That's one more reason why I never spend that much on a game. I have such a huge backlog, no reason to rush a pay full price when games inevitably go on sale after a while. The last game I paid full price for was Her Story (on release day), and that was about $6. Downfall will be next, but I doubt it's going to cost $25.

I paid $25 for Skyrim LE about a year ago. It was the full price, but it was retail and it came with a map, so it was worth it.
But most games I got on retail costed about $4 (Diablo 2, AC 1+2, RCT 3)

I rarely buy games from Steam

None but I'm glad we can. Maybe someday I'll need to ask for a refund but I usually think twice when I want something on the Steam store, because games are not particularly cheap.

None. Havent had to refund anything yet. Honestly, Id probably only ask for a refund if the game wouldnt run on my computer. I usually do a bit of research on games before I buy them so I know what Im in for as far as gameplay and story. If I dont think Ill like it, I dont bother buying it.

So lets say I want to refund a game. Are they inclined to say yes for "I bought this game five years ago and never played it"?

Alright, I just submitted one for Starforge, which I bought in early access several years ago because it looked promising and I was probably drunk and then it was abandoned by its developers and then was picked back up and morphed into something completely different. I played a grand total of 23 minutes of it, and only in its earliest state. And have no interest in it as it stands.

My reason is a more professional and very polite version of the above.

If they set the "drunk purchase from years ago" precedent for me, I'm refunding several games. I used to drink a lot.

I returned Lego Worlds (fun, but didn't run particularly well on my rig for no apparent reason) and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth 2 because it went on sale. I want to say that's it.
