If you like audiobooks and you are short on money (like me) you might want to take a look at this website

http://podiobooks.com/ AUDIOBOOKS FOR FREE. TOTALLY LEGAL. NO REGISTRATION. NO DRM. WITH THE AUTHORS PERMISSIONS.

Lots of high quality content that you normally have to pay good money for. Of course you can donate but usually most authors just ask that you write a small review on Itunes or amazon and generally just spread the word about their work. Most books are read by the authors themselves and are often produced on a professional level.
Currently podiobooks has over 700 (if i counted right) audiobooks to offer.

What i really like about this website is that theres NO Registration and NO DRM (just usual mp3 files). Just look for a book that you think might be interesting and download the files (for firefoxusers downthemall- addon comes in handy).
A big chunk of the selection is SciFi and Fantasy. If you want some recommendations just ask me. If you are familiar with podiobooks maybe give some recommandations of your own.

on a sidenote:
Also there are some really good Superhero- Novels to find there for example Playing for Keeps, Other peoples heroes, The Secret World chronicles, and How to succed in evil. All rated with above 90%

Oh yeah, seeing as this got bumped : Thanks a ton.
I burn two hours on public transport every work day, and this has been a real help.

"One Way Road" was cool.
"Heaven" was good too, though it did suffer some weak points.
Just started "SHAT" today.

SHAT is great . And Mr. Parrish recordings are all quite good. If you are interested in the whole Cthulu-Myth Yog-Sothoth's Box would be a good choice. Also his short story collection Chicken Pie is quite original.

And now so very close to the finale of Other People's Heroes.

Did I already say thankyou five times for linking this here?
Oh. Well. Thanks a sixth time then <3

Good stuff to find. Just go by rating. Everything above 75 is worth a try and the more comments the book has the better.

Just saw the thread, have to check it out later. Any recommendations on good titles that are easy to understand for non-native english listeners?

Hard to judge. Firstly id like to ask wich genre might be of interest for you. Afterward i give some recomandations and then you just listen to them for a short bit and then you can tell if it is difficult to understand or not.

Und was superhelden anbelangt :
http://podiobooks.com/title/playing-for-keeps/
http://podiobooks.com/title/other-peoples-heroes/

http://podiobooks.com/series/secret-world-chronicle/
http://secretworldchronicle.com/

http://podiobooks.com/title/how-to-succeed-in-evil-the-novel/

Thanks for the link, I'll give it a try :) Since I've bought the Goosebumps audiobooks on Humble Bundle (but unfortunately not all of them) I'm looking for some other good audiobooks ^^

Ahh yes Gänsehaut. I loved the show when i was a kid. If you need some recommandations just ask. Ive listened to a good portion of the books offered. Just give me a genre you would like.

Yep, always watched them at halloween when i was a kid ^^ Bought only the first tier from Humble Bundle, because I was not sure if I like them (never listened to an audiobook before). They're not bad and easy to understand even if english is not your main language like in my case (I'm from germany, too).

Thanks for the offer! If you know some good Horror, Fantasy or Adenture-Audiobooks I'd really appreciate if you could recommend them. Already saved the first fantasy-recommendations you mentioned earlier ^^

EDIT: Found the horror-recommendations you mentioned earlier. I think I will try "Nocturnal". Sounds interresting :)

Concerning Horror Scott Sigler is a good choice if you like it gory and actionpacked. His stuff is realy not for the faint of heart.
I greatly enjoyed Nocturnal. Scott Sigler was among the first to publish his audiobooks for free and even managed to get his novels on the NewYorkTimes-Bestseller list. And to this day he still publishes free audiobooks (per week one chapter)on his blog and when the book is complete he uploads it always to podiobooks.

In case you would like something more in the horror/mystery- realm Phil Rossi is a good choice.
