Kinguin's response to the complaints about bots/scipts btw. They seem pretty confident that they're not an issue--not sure why though.

They are literally living in denial :)

Easy excuse to make when you don't want to realize there's a problem. Would be nice if they could just admit to it and say "We're trying our best"

Kinguin's: no bots.
GRID2 massively distributed for free disappeared within 1/4 of a second.
Sure no bots with multiacc.

Damn silly, feels like it will never end. Bots gonna hold sway until they fix these omissions. C'MON, DEVS, DO SOMETHING.

There are definitely some bots GRID 2 or F1 2015 were sold out in like 3 seconds (these games were free)

This week's giveaways are broken. Sekiro for 800NK (aka NK's amount in 16 days) were sold out for few seconds. It just CAN'T be.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It can, if it's just one key.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

True, how many people are sitting with 800NK though? When most people whould have spent their points by now, skipped days or given up because they got nothing. It's definitely possible, but seems highly improbable that those few that do have so much NK were that fast to refresh and claim.

Edit: I'm not claiming it's broken but I do have serious suspicions about the account that could have claimed it

If they could..

They give out so few keys that too many don't get anything and rack up on points.

Certainly enough for the 10-20 keys of the good games.

Last time I was able to get a few games, even if it was just free old games. Now it's just impossible.

i can confirm that - after 1 second all is sold out - i dont know if it is better to press f5 at 00:00:05 or not. Most time i get signed out at 00:00:05-00:00:02 when i press f5 - no idea why? at 00:00:01 i´m signed in again and everything is sold out - bots love kinguin because the are doing nothing against them.

My point exactly is that if a person has gotten nothing while claiming Koins every 24hours for 12 days straight they are more likely to have given up on claiming Koins before even reaching 16days.
Another thing to keep in mind is that claiming a your 50Koins is not "1 claim per day of the month" but 1 claim AND THEN you have to WAIT 24hours before your next claim of 50 Koins so essentially it's very easy to loose out on those koins if you don't claim then on exactly the same hour every day.

Given all that...
I find it unlikely that the few REAL people who actually did that and sticked to that schedule even though they got nothing in return to show for (were most would have given up) actually claimed Sekiro on the exact moment it showed up.

That is why I suspect something strange about the account that claimed the game. Just saying I find it highly improbable...I mean when the first "high" tier games came out like Space Engineers and Medieval Engineers they were left unclaimed for long even until the next hour...because people did not bother to stock up on points, because they gave up

You underestimate the length people go for free stuff, and do you really think that are not like 10-20 people out of thousands to still do what you described?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I believe there are people who indeed have 800NK. Just find it highly improbable that the FEW REAL people that jumped through al those hoops are the ones that claimed Sekiro in 1 second :) that's all. Maybe a few minutes later or 30seconds later yes but all of them on the exact moment, no. To many variables and bugs on Kinguin.

So yeah you may think I underestimate people, that's fine. And I think you're not taking all factors into account and really looking at the odds. Like the odds of winning the lottery is highly highly unlikely, it's still possible and I never said that "It's impossible" so Let's just leave it at that then.

I saw someone have a good suggestion for how to better to do this: at the start of the hour have it be a raffle you can enter for each game, that lasts a total of 1 minute before drawing. They'll each be the same cost of krowns as they are now, but if you end up not winning you get them back. This way everyone at least gets a chance if they are there on the hour, bots or not, and should eventually spend at least some of their krowns on games.

Sure..... it was you kwek. lol.

Unfortunately, here was their reply:

Thanks for the idea, but we want to avoid randomly choosing winners. We're thinking how to improve it, gathering your ideas too.

So yeah... Rather than make it fair, they're content with leaving it the way it is. They say they're listening & trying to improve it BUT their actions say otherwise.

Well it's decepticons land then. With coins + captcha + time limit they could've eliminated both bots and multiaccs at the cost of randomness. They're trying to get new customers with this marketing promo, but with the current system,i believe, they're alienating them.

If you do random draw you sometimes bump up against legal problems (random draw is illegal or has strict rules in some countries).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't apply to free fake internet points, like we are here at steamgifts with the same system.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It applies even with random internet points, (because there is a tangible reward as the result of a game of chance).

Well you may be right. As for now we can only accumulate points for the following weeks...

Permalink

True true, I actually agree with your idea. It is possible to exclude some countries and still have random prize draw. Also, they need to stop these bots!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Depending on the jurisdiction where the promo is considered to be held, games with randomly generated winners may be under different regulations and taxation from skill-based games... even if the "skill" is "clicking as fast as possible after games appear".
